Front brake rotor replacement at 36k..Normal?
Hello everyone. I was just curious as to whether or not anyone has had to replace the front rotors on their Z, and what mileage they had to do this at. I had a number of issues with my front tires, my brakes squeaking, and other misc. '03 Z issues, and now they are telling me at 36k miles I need new front rotors. At first, it was I just needed new pads on all four corners and a resurfacing, but upon closer inspection it appears as though new fronts are in order. I know this is not completely out of the ordinary for a performance based car, I just wanted to get a feeling for what others have had to do to this point (just as a side note, the car has not been driven hard). Being that I have had so many issues, I want to make sure this is not another faulty part(s) issue.
If you have had them replaced, what mileage and approx how much for rotors & pads? Any feedback would be appreciated.
Thanks everyone!

umm when my brakes were screeching at like 10k miles i brought it to the dealership. they said that the rotor was warped, so they replaced them free of charge, only thing i paid for were the brake pads.
I've been to a number of track days and AutoX and with 54,000 miles my front rotors have pretty deep grooves. I'm on my second set of front pads and third set of rears.
I would have a hard time picturing someone chewing thru rotors faster than me, especially since it doesn't sound like you've needed to change pads much. I would say it's not "normal" but it may not be unheard of either.
When I finally need to get new front rotors, I plan on just buying a stoptech front brake kit (the smaller one, I think it's 13").
My rear rotors still look new though.
-D'oh!

I destroyed my front and rear rotors within about 12k miles. This was due to a few instances of 100mph+ stops (damn you Buicks going 40 mph on the interstate at 2am!). They were warped so bad that when stopping the car felt "woobly" and u could hear a "wowowo" sound. I replaced it with the Stoptech Stage 2 slotted rotor setup w/ Hawk HPS pads. It's really cheap (probably about the same as the dealer is gonna charge you for OEM stuff) and is excellent quality. I've hit 33k with them and they are still perfect. Get a performance shop to do the install as the dealer will probably rip you off. :P I got my kit from Performance Nissan, btw.
