Rim offset / suspsension / camber questions.....little help all you guru's
Alright I'm really close to making a purchase on the Top Secret Widebody kit and before i do so i want to make sure i have all my ducks in a row. I need new tires on my car as i stated in a previous thread due to me not getting a camber kit when i lowered the car ( novice error ). Right now i have a 8.5 front 9.5 rear 245/35/19 275/35/19 setup for my wheels with Tein S-Tech springs. What i'm aiming for with the widebody is a 9.5 front 10.5 rear with Tein Flex w/ EDFC on some larger front and rear tires. What is the biggest i can probably go since the kit adds 2 inches to the cars width? I would assume maybe 265 front 305 rear but i dont want any buldge i want it like a 245 275 setup on a stock Z. Also before i go buying a camber set i want to make sure it would work with both my present setup and future setup because i may not be installing the kit of new wheels right off the bat. Please give me your two cents on this issue. Does it matter if its a full suspension kit or springs? Let me know im trying to learn as much as i can via searches but there are so many different scenarios out there and it doesnt look like anyone has been in this type so far.
If I'm not mistaken the optimal sizes for the Top Secret Kit with Volk Wheels is something like the following:
20x9.5 offsets from +0 to +10 (depending on tire size)
20x10.5 offsets from -5 to +10 (again taking into account tire size)
For instance, if you were interested in running GT-C's, I would recommend 20x9.5/10.5 +9 all the way around... for tires I would recommend 275/30 fronts and either 295/30 or 305/30 rears... you're really not sticking any fatter tires than you normally could, you're just pushing them further out to accomodate the fatter fenders...
This is a setup similar to what the TS 350Z is running, and I like it alot - but what's even better is the setup the new Widebody CV35 GT-R (g35) is running - 20x10.5 +9 all the way around with 285/30's all the way around - made for neutral handling...
