Default EDFC wire coiling help

I have a set of TEIN Flex + EDFC and I have a problem where the front right EDFC motor can be turned by hand. The motor itself is tight ie: not loose on the piston shaft that it is screwed onto but when driving the motor tends to spin slowly and starts coiling the EDFC wires.

So my question is.

Is this normal as the left hand side does not do it. First we thought that the EDFC came loose and started coiling the wires as they do sometimes but it would seem that the piston shaft that the EDFC is screwed onto spins easier on one side than the other.

Any ideas?
