Default --- Quick Spring Question, Please help ---

Alright, I have done a search and cat find the answer to this question. Tech Support was absolutley no help whatsoever either. I want to put the Eibach Pro-kit springs made for a G35 coupe (part #6365.140) on my Z, The correct part # for the Z springs is 6364.140. Both sets offer a 1 inch progressive drop all around off stock for both cars.....Heres the thing, I know the G coupe sits higher to start with than the Z. SO what will my drop be, if any, by using the G springs on my Z?? Also, anyone know the stock curb weight of a G coupe off hand? Thanks!!

It would probably drop it about 1/2". Just curious, but why would you want to do this?

IMO, resell the springs in the marketplace and use those fund's to help buy the Eibach's ment for the Z. Two reason's for this. One, the G35 coupe prokit's use lower inital spring rates and this will take your car in the opposite direction from Nissan's sporting intention's. Oem G coupe shocks (not talking about the new for 05 coupe sport suspension) are valved a lot softer then oem Z shocks, so it could see to a point why Eibach used such lower inital rates, but IMO they went too low. If you watch a G coupe with those springs drive away, you will see the whole car see saw up and down on weight transfer quite vividly. Secondly, any lowering spring ment for a G35 coupe when used on a 350Z will NOT see you getting the same drop as when used on the G35. You must add in, about 1/2" in ride height to get the effective drop on a Z. So, while Eibach G35 coupe prokit's may drop a G35 coupe 1", they will drop a 350Z about a 1/2" in comparision.

Below specs do NOT reflect oem 350Z 2004.5/2005 rear rate changes)

Eibach 350Z progressive springs
Spring rates inital/final in lbs Front 296/384 Rear 316/421
Stiffer then oem as noted above F +22% R +23% (looking at peak rates only)

Eibach G35 Coupe progressive springs
Spring rates inital/final in lbs Front 229/337 Rear 274/463
Stiffer then oem as noted above F+7% R +35% (looking at peak rates only)
