Project Mu 2-Piece Rotors for Brembo
Here is a link: http://www.intensepower.com/prmuscrprofr.html
I am on the verge of getting some better rotors, and I was/am really leaning towards the Stoptech Aerorotors. But, I fornd these now. Is there anybody know how these are or how they would compare to the Stoptechs? Which features does one have over the other ect. ect. The only reason that I like theses a little better is because of the hat color.

Any help would be appreciated.

i'm assuming those are fronts? they're more expensive than stoptech's front rotors for the brembos
I always thought it was weird that the stoptech rear rotors were more expensive than the fronts...

i had no idea our brembos can fit 2 piece rotors under them. ive been looking at stoptech stage 2 upgrade, but i heard that they dont take too kindly to heavy abuse.

i think i heard performance nissan's race car was using the stoptech slotted rotors at first with the brembos for their big long races. But after long heavy racing, they'd crack. So they went back to the stock solid rotors. Then went to the stoptech BBK because the solid stock brembo rotors can't handle 1-3 hour hard driven races and though wouldn't crack, they'd overheat and get brake fade
something too about the slotted rotors would chew up the pads when they'd race them hard

yeah it's kinda annoying when companies gotta use all these weird colors. Car ends up having all sorts of red, green, aqua, purple, etc parts all over it and looking like rainbow bright
I have these. They are misleading because when I opened the box mine had slots and dimples. They work like a charm. The anodized turquoise doesnt look too bad. The advantages is better cooling and lighter weight then your stock rotors. Quick easy install too.
I bought the one peice for the rear and it has a painted turquoise center and it looks like crap. I will have to repaint those one day.

Does anyone know if you can just pull the colored piece off and have it powdercoated?

Ryan, will you be painting your Calipers to match. That would look better than Orange and blue. But than again its your car.
Any yes please post pics.

1. Sentry65...no idea where you got that info from. Unitech Racing was using stock rotors on their race cars initially. They didn't hold up very well at all, and they were running out of heat capacity. They then switched to our AeroRotor Direct Replacement Kit and had much more success with them than the stockers. They actually won the first race in which they used these parts. Obviously we can't take credit for the win, but the team owner (Jackson Stewart) did say that they were a significant contributing factor:
http://www.stoptech.com/company_info...krelease.shtml
This year there was a rule change that allows the team to run our full 332mm BBK, so of course they switched over to our full setup for the added benefits. They did NOT go back to stock rotors because our rotors were cracking. That's just plain silly.
2. The rear is more expensive than the front on our application because the rear aluminum hat costs a lot more to produce. The front hat top to bottom is much thinner than the rear hat, because on the rear you have to make a very deep hat to accomodate the parking brake. That means on the rear you're starting with a much thicker slab of aluminum billet...which is more expensive. That means the retail price is higher on the rear.
Finally, when considering these parts keep a few things in mind. After you wear out the first set, the cost and availability of replacement iron is key. Our replacement front slotted rotors are $130 each, and the rears are $108. These prices also INCLUDE attachment hardware. That's $476 for all four corners the next time you need to replace your rotors. That's only a little more expensive than ONE factory replacement rotor, which retail for about $400 each...and the factory parts are heavy, one-piece, plain-Jane rotors. With our DRK, you're getting the same technology of the AeroRotors in our full big brake kits...better cooling, longer wear, and over 2lbs. unsprung weight savings per corner.
IMO, these are possibly the biggest no-brainer parts we sell. Some other things to consider with us vs. Project Mu...customer support, cost of attachement hardware, availability (we're in Los Angeles), and long-term ownership costs when replacing as described above.
On a personal note, I think that teal green color clashes horribly with the gold calipers...
hey thanks for clearing that up, that answered a lot of my questions
Where can we buy the replacement iron rotors? Not the full rotor, just the iron part. I can't find them on anyone's site. Performance nissan has some, but they're like $200-250 each and not the right sizes for the Z brembo rotors
$476 sounds awesome for replacing rotors in the future
BTW, how much is it for the replacement ones for the full stoptech BBK?
