That is a tight looking rim for being stock. You're right though, needs to be lowered....

I believe 2005+ Z's have sit a 1/2 inch higher in the rear. I can see it on my 05 anyway.

Z suspension is not sport, huh didnt know that? I learn new things everyday.

They should stop using Xterra suspension and design something for the Z.

jason @ performance nissan believes the '06 rear suspension is actually comes from nismo. theres a thread here somewhere that talks about it.

Maybe on the one car they checked. Mine didn't come with Nismo suspension because I bought the Nismo suspension and had it installed. I've seen several other 06 owners say they didn't get the Nismo rears either. Prolly a factory error.

my 03 with stock spring in the rear has 1.5" clearance between the tire and the rim of the fender. If two people are riding on it.... there would only be less than an inch of clearance left.....IMO a PERFECT profile. My stock suspension is already low enough...cuz i scraped the bottom everytime i went over those bumps at the local market.... i can't imagine if it was any lower than stock.

Strange, but my 06 seems to not have that much space in the rear
I'll have to take a good pic of mine at that same angle

Heh, the factory prolly ran out of the standard suspension and sub'ed the Nismo stuff for that day's production. "Hey Bob, no more Z shocks, got anything else in the warehouse?" "Oh crap Frank, I forgot to order those, we got some Nismo's we can use... nobody will ever notice!"

Jason only noted that a few of the cars that arrived at his dealership had Nismo back shocks.
