sounds interesting. Anyone have any thoughts on them?

Thoughts? Sure! I blew out my rear diff bushing at the drag strip a few months ago. It's a silicone filled bushing and Nissan doesn't sell just the bushing-they sell you an entire new subframe instead for about $300-screw that! For $109 these solid bushings from SPL are a steal and I'll never have to worry about replacing these ever again. Diff whine is somewhat audible now on decel mostly, but it's really not bad and a small price to pay in my mind for the increased traction and rigidity these provide. Wheel hop is almost completely eliminated now. I highly recommend them and am putting SPL solid subframe and diff bushings in my z32 as well.

thanks
I'm thinking about them and am more than willing to deal with any extra noises as long as they're not rediculously loud.
what's involved with installing them? Is taking off the rear diff a long process - I'm not a mechanic, I'd have a shop do it, but only if it's just an hour or 2 of labor or so.
any other downsides? They wouldn't hurt anything would they?
how soon will these be available to buy?
is there any additional gear backlash or jerking or sudden engine braking with keeping the rear diff locked down?

The only downside to the solid diff bushings is increased drivetrain noise, but with stock subframe bushings providing some isolation the noise level is fairly low. There is no jerking, etc.
We should have these ready in about 1-2 months... we have had other shops tell us that they have found a number of ripped stock rear diff bushings, if you ever notice black streaks on the diff housing (like in the pics) that is from a leaking rear diff bushing.

Looks good to me.
But did anyone notice what was at the top of the page?
Front camber arms with spherical bearings that have a total of 5 degrees of adjustment for only $500!!!!!
When are these things coming out, I want a set!!!!!!!!!!!!!

spl makes some ridiculously high quality parts, there was an article essentially on them and their lineup for the 300zx in sports compact car (May 2004 issue). I might scan it if i get the chance and post it up, its a great read and very informative as far as suspension work goes.
OK so on that page I notice 3 different terms:
In production, coming soon, and under development.
What do these mean in time frames?
Since it was said the solid bushings would be ready in 1-2 months, I'm guessing "in production" means 1-2 months, and therefore the front+rear diff bushings, and front camber arms will be ready in 1-2 months.
How long for the other arms which are "coming soon", or the subframe bushings which are "under development."
If the parts are THAT GOOD then I'm getting excited over here, and can't wait.

I also have the first set of camber arms and these things are sweet. I tested them out at Motorsport Ranch in Ft Worth on the new 3.1 mile course a few weeks ago and I love them! They are definitely worth the wait. I showed them to a few other 350 owners and they were very impressed with them as well.
Their A-Arms look great, but I just received their hub-centric rings, and they fit like Sh*t! Not happy! I am not very happy with their clearance measurements. Maybe I got a bad set, but I have other hub-centric rings that do not require a BFH to install.

The solid diff bushings and front camber arms are being manufactured right now, both items should be available in about 1-2 months.
As for the other items they are products that either we have not finished R&D or are slated to be developed...

1-2 Months for the A-arms. Hmm, I can do that. If they are all that they look like they will be, I'll be picking up a pair!
Everything else is still in R+D huh? That means a very long time before we see them. Guess I'll have to pick up some JIC or Stillen rear arms.

Any chance those differential bushings will be made from something like 80A-durometer polyurethane? Even the hard 75D would be better than aluminum in my opinion. 80A would last forever and be much quieter than aluminum.

bumping an old thread....while installing my new hubs and wheel bearings last night, I saw the differential bushing leaking. Anyone else have experience w/ the solid SPL one?
detriments of not replacing it?
