Reviving thread...why is this? I thought the ride height was determined from the springs?

I know the springs were revised in 04.5+ Z's...did they change again in 06?

no camber issues since it's only a mild drop. from what ive read, ppl are very happy with them, more so than teins and eibachs. so i doubt they're lower quality.

06 spring height is different then all other years. The hotchkis are for those that want that real subtle drop but if you have a 06 you will still have a nice gap in the rear. I'm definitely working on getting some coilovers since I do not want any gap whatsoever.

I thought the other guy was saying that a hotchkis drop on an 06 was less than on an 04 and, to my knowledge, this should not be the case since the ride height is determined by the springs which are replaced.

the 06's may be have the same spring as the 05's but have a thicker spring isolator or something.

that way the gap will always be bigger than an 05 (given same springs)

not saying this is the case, but factors other than the springs can affect ride height

True, although the original spring isolator is huge!...was hoping someone who knew would respond. Curious what they actually changed and why...thx.

I dont think they make specifics springs for the 06, hotchkis website only shows 03 plus, I called them in the spring of 06 and they confirmed this. Rember the rev engine is heavier and if the springs are all the same , I think the front drop is lower thus the rear seems to have abigger wheel gap. I bought my springs from an 03 Z however mines a 06 roadster so my rear is heavier due to the power top and I get a nice even drop.

I've got my TVS kit on order but I'm also thinking about cutting the rear upper spring seat down a little according to this thread:

https://my350z.com/forum/showthread....ar+spring+seat

How much wheel gap is there in the front/rear in inches after your springs settled?

Looks like a little over a 1" gap on the front and 1.75" gap in the back.
