Default Which coil suspension? HELP

I'm looking into getting a coil system and not sure which one to get.
I want a system that I can adjust the height and is good for street driving no, i won't track the car. I am thinking about tein coil system and I dont plan to use EDFC.

What is your budget? what size wheels are you running? what tires? how are the roads where you typically drive?

if you dont plan to get the EDFC, skip the Tein's - the rear will be virtually impossible to adjust dampening on without the EDFC, and frankly, they are not the nicest riding coilovers out there relative to their cost. For a pure street driven car, there are some excellent alternatives out there for relatively mild costs.

Tein basic ? Tein SS? Nismo S tune? HKS RS?
I want something simple yet i can adjust the height. EDFC looks too complicated

Go with Tein basics. If you don't' plan to track the car and mainly normal street driving and some spirited driving, the basics is the best bang for the buck. I believe the spring rates are 504kg front/504kg rear.

thanks...another question: compare to stock suspension, is it stiffer or softer for street racing ?

How is it compared to tein flex?

The ride is actually, to my surprise, just a little stiffer than stock, but not bouncy at all. The stock rides really bouncy.

the Basic's are an ok setup to use - not expensive and gives generally good results. 2 other units to consider that I feel ride better for street use, based on the cars we've used them on, are the KW Variant 1 and the Bilstein PSS9.
Both had much better low speed dampening control, which is nice for local street driving.

the NISMO setup is also great, but not height adjustable. The HKS RS is another terrific setup, but if you're not interested in playing with the adjustments it offers for dampening, there is no point in going with it in my opinion (I have these on my car)

Between tein basic and tein flex, which one is better for street use?
There's someone who offers me 1k for tein flex w/o EDFC but I am concerned about the stiffness for street use.
Should I go for tein flex or basic?

If you are on budget Id look into the Tanabe S-0C. Theyre slighty more aggressive then the Tein Basics and will perform better. If you dont have a budget, it really depends on what you are trying to get out of your car.

we've got just about the lowest price out there I will PM you

here ya go:

Keep in mind though, no matter who you go with, that Tein is backordered with the Basic's right now (and they have been on backorder for awhile), so it's likely you'll be waiting still several more weeks before they could ship

Hello,

I think many veterans on this and other automotive related forums have learned over the years that just because this or that company has the best price on a product, it doesn't reflect anything about the service, delivery, etc. Support your forum vendors, research them, PM them, and you also may want to look at their i-Trader ratings for your final decision..
