Default Help on Lowering my Z

Has anybody had any luck with lowering springs on OEM shocks. I'm looking for a 1" drop and want to know if I can add just springs without having to change the shocks as well.

The shocks will wear out sooner, but you can do it.

also if you're not installing yourself... it'll cost you more in labor to do springs and then at a later date do shocks as opposed to doing it all at once.

will a more aggressive drop wear out the shocks faster than a mild drop? eg. tanabe gff210 compared to hotchkis?
