Default D2 Coilovers

I was looking into purchase a set instead of the Tein Flex, after seeing these photos of what happened to a set of D2's I can't help but feel a little discouraged, to say the least. Don't know the story as to why this occured, possibly the car had blown shocks. Anyone seen or heard of stuff like this happening?

Kinda hard to know what really happened just from pics, was it a product failure or a driver failure, as in hitting something.

Can you please elaborate? I have not and would like to hear of all known occurances.

The original poster was vague in his story only stating that they broke, my assumption is that it was due to mechanical and not driver error. Though I am hoping the failure was not directly related to the D2 product itself.

That is a strut which is a structural component. The 350Z uses shocks which are not structural.

I have D2's and while they were an installation nightmare I have not had catostrophic failure like that and have not heard of this happening before.

That coilover did not simply fail, the driver had to have hit something....
