Default zeal function xs coilover spring preload question

So I changed my preload when initially trying to figure out how to lower my coilovers and I have no idea how to get it back to original setting. I've been told by a friend to tighten the spring just until you can't move it up and down but that seems to leave it way too loose. Plus I think at this "preload" my ride height is being affected as a result of the spring not being compressed tightly enough. Does anyone have a rough estimate (eg. in terms revolutions from when you can just move the spring up and down) of how to get the coilovers back to stock spring rate? Is there a manual or official document that zeal has out there that can help? (endless usa is currently down but i don't remember their site being that helpful).

I don't preload my springs. Preloading changes the spring rate. I do the same as your friend. I tighten it til there is no play in the spring. Height adjustment is independant of spring preload.
