just a bbk

i shouldnt of had the flash on the camera on.......these calipers are really red. these thing stop on a dime and there is no noise at all.ive heard of some bad things about the hawk pads but these seem real nice.
i only have about 500 miles but so far so good.i wish this was spring time so i could put my summer tires back on cause the stock 17,s with winter tires dont show much.

Why only 4 and 2 piston???? Not worth the upgrade, IMO. How much was the kit? Are those HPS Hawk pads? Can you weigh the rotors and the stock ones? Thanks,

Just wondering why you didn't spend the bit extra and get the front 6 pot and the rear 4 pot?

It's the number of pistons in the calipers. You see on the fronts, there are two circle shapes on each side of the calipers. That means they are 4-piston, or '4-pot'
The rears have only 1 piston on each side of each cailper, therefore being '2-pot' in the rear.

since my car is my dd i use winter tires on the car with the factory 17,s.the 4 pot clears them but the 6 pot would not.and i didnt feel like buying new wheels and tires just for the winter time.

g35brakes.com offers a wilwood kit with 6potfront and 4pot rears and 13.5" rotors that fit the 17" wheels. Just for those people who are still considering their options

i was thinking about that kit....but the wilwood,s have no dust boots on the pistons which isnt very good for normal street driving.
ive been in the auto repair business for 29 years and believe me you need the dust boots for the street, unless you like rebuilding your calipers twice a year.

Based on the pictures of the calipers you posted earlier, it doesn't appear you have dust boots on your kit either.

Maybe RB slots their rotors opposite most other manufacturers OR you have your rotors on the wrong sides. You have directional vanes that will only pump half the air when installed on the opposite sides (The vanes should be angled toward the rear). Probably won't matter for winter & DD, but you'd better check that before going to a track day.
