Default How much better are the Brembos on the track model?

Is there a website with the actual stopping distance numbers? How much better is the brake fade? Is it better to get Brembos or aftermarket if I have a touring model? I plan to take my car to the track and prefer investing in brakes/suspension over bolt ons and hp gains...so is it really worth it to get the Brembos or not?

The brembo model stops 60-0 in 117.3feet, the regular non brembo (small one 11.7" rotors) stops in 118 feet.

There isnt alot of difference in stopping power, its more geared towards fade resistance. Stopping power is only good as the tires.

Here is a nice read to understand the subject more at hand.

What is this post even doing in this thread?

It is obvious that he is asking about the Brembo equipped Z's vs. the non-Brembo equipped Z's.

Motorcycles? Bicycles? WTF?

LOL. Sorry. I moderate a lot of message boards and tonight, by the time I got around to checking on this one.... well, let's just say I was kinda fed up by that point, and may have sounded overly harsh.

I don't have to worry about this thread (not my forum!), so ***** away, pal! Fkuc her blue!

I now return this thread to the OP. Sorry for the interruption.
It was, of course, all his fault.

If you can, definitely get the brembos! I have my regrets on not getting a track pack...

I normally go cruise with two other friends, one 35th anni and one 2003 track. We'd sometimes do some runs, but when it comes braking. I got brake fades after like two runs and they got no problems at all.

To much lean angle , cause by inproper body position. You need to pull your upper body and head off the bike and lift you elbows a bit while turning a bit more in the seat. Not a good photo to post online.
Back tot he subjet , if i knew i was going to track my car , i would have gotten one with OEM Brembo's, the smaller rotors do get a lot of fade depending on you track config.

Unless you get a killer deal on a set of used Brembo, go for a front/rear upgrade from AP or StopTech, or others.

Shop around.

The question seems to be should I retro fit my Touring model with OEM Brembos or aftermarket? I'd go aftermarket BBK if that were the case.

There is a certain satisfaction in having Brembo Brakes and knowing that you have Nissan's OEM parts.

I absolutely LOVE when someone asks, "Are those really Brembos!? Did it come from the factory like that?"

It feels good being able to say, "Yes, and yes."

lol?

Anyway, I want to do trackdays with the car and cannot stand brake fade...I'm partially getting the Z so I can take it to the track a couple times a month and have fun with it...I guess I should invest in some aftermarket brakes. How much does a set of Brembos usually run?

Oh, and just for you...

I did two track days last year on my stock brembo's with stock pads and they held up excellent throughout each event (1 1/2 hour track time hard driving per event). The OEM pad does dust like hell though, and i will be replacing it with the Nismo R compounds.

Nicky is on a GP bike and your on a Supersport bike , there is a huge difference there. I could start posting all my race photo's, but there pretty easy to find all over online.
I do recoment the Brembo's if you plan to track your car alot, the stock brembo's will be just fine if you get a track model.
