OEM Brembo vs Brembo big brake kit
If you are going to track it at 100%, your Brembos aren't going to be enough anyway. I don't know your skill, but at some point, and if you drive towards the limit, you will fade the OEM Brembos, even with race pads from Stoptech. If you are ok with a few hard laps or driving at 90%, just upgrade your pads all around. There are very few pads that are good for street and track. I drive my Z32 on random weekends and to the track, so the Pagid Orange is ok for limited street-use.
Do not use the Axxis Ultimates for the track - you will destroy them in 2 sessions. You really need two sets of pads for a DD and track car.

I was comming off a "straight" the other night behind a STI and got on the brakes hard around 145 and they faded almost instantly. I have the Track Brembos with Axxis ULT pads.
Does that sound normal?

My recommendation for upgrading stopping perfomance
1. better pads
2. better tires
3. higher boiling point brake fluid
4. 2 piece slotted rotors with ss brake lines.
5. all of above

I went through this whole brake thing just a bit ago so here are my two cents.
Since you have not tracked the car yet, just get some good dedicated track pads like Raybestos ST41/ST43's or other track only pad. The Brembo's should be fine. If after trying these pads you're not content, upgrade to a BBK.
My guess is thta if you get SS lines, Motul RBF600 or other good fluid, and track only pads, you'll be fine. I ran this on an 06 with non-brembo setup and it worked ok, but the brembo's are better.
If your brakes are fading in the hills there's something else going on. I've done repeated stops from 130-140 with oem pads with no fade. I drive the east bay hills too and never experienced fade on the street.
Are you the same frong from barf?

yes i used search.

From the sounds of it, you want this for a cosmetic upgrade. No?

sounds normal to me. My axis ultimates with brembos and stoptech 2 piece slotted rotors fade after a couple really hard stops from 80+mph

The one piece rotors can't be drilled because of the pillar vane design which are posts between the friction walls.

My opinion on the OEM Brembo setup is that it's great for street driving but definately limited for heavy tracking.
I track my '06 350Z with OEM Brembos twice a month. Having experienced terminal fade with stock pads, I have gone down the route of braided lines, RBF600 fluid, Axxis ULT pads, Hawk HP+ and now I use PFC01 race pads on track days. I have recently added brake cooling ducts running from under the car direct into the backing plates as close to the hub centres as possible.
Even though there has been a progressive improvement, I still get serious fade after 10 to 15 minutes of hard tracking. The problem is not braking torque as the set up can lock 275 Nitto NT01 semislicks fairly easily when the brakes are cool. The problem is simply getting rid of heat which the standard set up is not up to for serious track driving.
I have tried to avoid going to a BBK, but it probably inevitable. I am interested in anyone who knows of a bigger rotor setup that will work with the stock calipers? I would still likea bigger rotor but it seems a shame to throw away perfectly good calipers.

As you move the calipers further out with larger rotors, the curvature of the caliper may not work with the curvature of the rotors and the pads will not make complete contact with the rotor, and the edge of the pad will start to develop an uneven lip on it. Caliper moveout kits also don't change the piston sizing, and installing only a front kit would cause brake bias issues. Get a true BBK if you are planning on tracking and avoid the bandaid relocation kits if at all possible

Do you know WHY you are getting brake fade?

Yep, I am aware of the limitations of move out kits, but I was interested in any actual experience with these on a 350Z with brembos.
Can anyone comment on improvements with original size aftermarket 2 piece rotors/Brembo setup for tracking?
