Default Is this $5,000 really worth it?

I want to upgrade to Nismo sway bars/suspension/wheels and get Goodyear Eagle F1 tires...after tax, it will cost around $5,000. Is it worth the money? I plan on driving this car for the next 5 or so years...

I guess the question I should be asking is, for the 5 grand I'm going to spend, is the improvement over the stock suspension/sway bars/wheels worth it?

what wheels did you have in mind? if you're looking at a long term car and good track wheels, you should invest in possibly forged wheels. Spend the money now so that you won't have to later. Like everyone says, do it right the first time.

For $5000? for a suspension and wheels? You should find them used to chop down that price tag. Do you really have to have the "Nismo" parts?

$5000 for brand new nismo wheels, quality tires, the nismo sway bars and full suspension, is a good deal (assuming that includes the installations prices if hes not doing it himself)

Just a decent set of wheels with tires alone would be close to 2.5-3g alone.

I understand what you're saying and I know the Nismo stamp isn't cheap but there's so much brands out there for cheaper that are just as good if not better.
I actually could find a decent set of wheels/tires for 1.5g. If you don't include the regular Work, Volk, or those Japan brands. I was just asking why "Nismo". Isn't there a few "used" Nismo wheels for sale all over the place? Another spring w/ the Tokico D-Spec could get for under $700

Im thinking he's gonna regret it afterwards. He's gonna be trying to justify his purchases leaving him with a hole in his stomach, asking him why he spent 5g's when he could've gotten a single turbo kit or vortech sc, etc..

yeah, there's quite a few people I know like that. Dealership=rip-off artist.
Every service, parts, or car sale=$$$$$$$ for them. We all get ripped off in one way or another from them.

It might be worth it ... but consider alternatives to Nismo as well. You might find lighter/cheaper/better looking rims or you find a better suspension.

Good luck

$5,000 for a 2-3% improvement in peak G has to be weighed.

I think the main difference will be how the car feels and reacts to driver input. The fun factor will be augmented if not the performance. Plus, using the factory tuned setup guarantees a seamless integration of the suspension. Keeping the OEM fit and finish is worth the added expense to someone who is not looking at tweaking his new suspension.

As for the NISMO wheels. From my experience, OEM wheels are of excellent quality. How many people have bought pretty wheels for cheap and had them bent on a typical pothole? OEM wheels are though. I wouldn't discredit them on price only.

Do your self a favor and save some money.

Stance Coilovers
Hotchkis Sways
Rota P45R
Falken RT-615

This setup will cost you a lot less AND perform better. Aside from the wheels, Nismo is over priced crap IMO.

I'd agree with the first half of that. I'm not a fan of cheap *** wheels nor Falken tires. I prefer the BFG KDWs. Those Goodyears are way too pricey for what you get.
