220 out the door from Todd at DTD and it changed the whole car.

Been awhile and about 2k miles I think

I saw EJ's car and man is that feathering ugly so here is my car as of yesterday (close up of tire, no feathering handles like a 200k car!

to be sure, I think that the SAME car has to have feathering, add new tires (exactly same model) and install springs (keeping align the same) and re-test. there are just too many variables here. No way I run out and buy springs based on that experiment, do I hope there is a easy cure such as this?? DANG right I do!!!!, It just isn't enough evidence to run out and do it.

Did you have it before then added the eibachs and now DOn't????

To some the glass is always half empty I guess.

Just trying to help, not asking you to buy anything because I do not have any vested interest in the Company.

I didn't get an alingment after the install I'm just starting a thread about what a great mod it is.

Some are going with the Nismo Kit, how much does that cost and is it proven? Just curiuos because I hear it mentioned allot.

I'm not gonna redo my setup but I posted a pic as asked to do awhile back when I first installed it.

Nothing more, nothing less. If there are too many variables it may never be solved?

I don't have it and the glass isd half full!

Peas!

I think I was letting my frustration with this issue show thru in my reply to your thread, SORRY didn't mean to be a JERK.

Can you please give more info on the situation, like...Did you have feathering before???? if so how many miles on the tires???? if you don't now, how many miles do you have since the change???

THANX!!!

MaxHax, nice car and nice setup! Did you have the bounce/purpoising prior to the Eibachs and has it now been eliminated?

Default Wrong picture?

That picture looks like the right rear tire? Do you have any of the front tires?

OK,

I wasn't upset and you are not a jerk.

I had feathering and it is gone. But I changed the tires and springs pretty close together.

A picture of the front won't matter because there isn't any feathering.

Feathering looks like a bunch of little scratches every 3 inches around the inside of the tire.

What else,

2k miles on the springs and tires, I will follow up in 5k more miles for sure.

I had bouncing, it is gone. Understeer was severe it is gone.

Thanks for the compliments.

I used to have the bounce. I have not felt it even once since I have my Eibachs on. That is a definetive YES on getting rid of the bounce.

I don't know about the feathering, too early to tell. The cars handles the corners like a dream.

So, those 2 horizontal lines are "feathering" ?

I fixed the 2nd link since it doesn't work, but in that picture I don't see any of those tiny "scratches" or lines..

Where's the feathering in that pic ? Someone define it better for me plz

The feathering is the black/grey patches you see on the inside edge of the tire (right side on that picture). The black and grey are low/high points of rubber. Because it does not wear evenly, some points are high, some are low. The tire than makes "noise" which gets gradualy worse.

What the dealers have been doing is fliping the tires (install the left in the right). To do this you have to remove the tires from the rims and re-mount them properly. This makes the inside edge be the outside edge, thus (sometimes, depending on the alignment) getting rid of the noise, but not the problem.

Default Eibachs's and alignment settings

Maxhax or others with springs,
1. I use my car for daily commuting and Autox. Do you feel like the Eibach's give a good ride compared to stock. Yes I want to get rid of the bouncing but not if I damage my kidneys and get a migraine on the way to work.

2. MaxHax mentioned that he has no feathering so far, are you concerned about the extra camber the increased drop from the Eibach's give?

For me (I am 43 years old, used to drive a Lincoln and a Thunderbird) is not a hard drive. Actually, it is almost like stock, just no bounce. The corners feel better.

I haven't checked my camber yet, but It is not "extreme" and many have already reported it close to or within specs. It is on my todo list this week.

Comfortable ride for a sports car and less bouncy or harsh than stock but it's not a Lexus for sure I will be honest there.

Camber is a non issue according to my installer (at this point in time.) Almost perfect, nothing to worry about.

I don't want or need a Lexus ride. I just want the bounce/jounce gone without increasing ride harshness much. Looks like Eibach's are the most effective and economic fix.

It is cheap to try. I paid $220 for mine plus $100 install. I have my stock ones in the same box in my garage. I can live with them for a while. In the odd chance I hate them with a pasion, I just put the stock ones back, resell the Eibachs and make up some of the diff.

Doesn't seem to cost much. Only people I have seen take them off so far is because of rims/fat tires lowering issues.

You've proven nothing at all. The rears don't feather, only the fronts.
