Default Alignments, What is SAI?

As stated, what does SAI stand for. How important is it? It seems to be way off on the front left. Spec call for 4.3 to 5.8. Mine is-0.8. Car drives a hole lot better though. last alignment done two months ago and today had checked again and everything was out of wack. Toe was basicly off the charts in the front. Everything is good now. Just want to know about the SAI?

I did find that it stands for steering angle inclement. But not sure exactly what it is referring to.

i had a similar problem with my wrx. My sai was way off spec and wasn't allowed for a reconstruction permit. Basically the sai is non-adjustable and the recon. office said that it was a manufacturer defect. As I called various shops, they said the alignment shop did not adjust the camber bolt, but somewhere on the top part of the strut (can't remember where). SAI can be brought back to specs, but not sure how. I sold the wrx before it needed to be fixed.

I'm still talking with the dealer about this. They seem to be the only people who actully know about this (SAI). They say something would have to bend for this to happen. But all the compents for this would have to take a hard hit, so far as hitting a curve hard or some type of side impact. And I know that's not the case.

Ever thing I've researched doesn't really say what kind of negative action this causes. Except for a small pull at low speeds. But I don't feel any of it. Just going to play it by ear.
