Question i put eibachs on and 19" rims...i have a problem (more)

hey guys i have eibachs and 19" GT7s on my car and have noticed while driving uphill, in gears 3 and 4 particularly, my traction control activates and slip is detected.

could this be happening because of my drop and or wheels??

i have 245/35/19 in the front and 275/30/19 in the rears...any input would be great.

i have an enthusiast model Z

thanks guys...hope u like the pix

275/30/19 in the rear?? that's smaller circumference than stock... maybe that is creating a problem???

I have 245/35/19 and 285/35/19 on mine and no trouble at all

What kind of silver finish do you have on your wheels, (chrome silver or mercury silver). Or if I'm wrong in my perception of the color, Could you tell me the color please. I'm considering GT-7, but i can't make my mind on the color. Thank's

You should be ok with the 275/30/19, i would just reccomend turning off the TCS, I never drive with mine on unless its raining.

The stock rear tires are about 4.5% larger in diameter than the fronts and now yours are abour 4% smaller than the front so yor computer thinks the rears are spinning/slipping about 8% which is too much so it lifts the throttle to try to slow the rears vs. the fronts which will never happen .
My advice change rear tire size to a taller tire or always run with the TCS turned off to avoid the rear brakes wearing out early or the throttle from being cut on you.
Get some advice on tire sizing from this web site before buying new tires.

Why is this on the Z? Why are a lot of people running like a 35 series tire in front, and a 30 series tire in the rear? Does the width of the tire change the circumfrence of the tire? I want to know how somebody figured out that there is a 4.5% diffrence in size. I am confused. I am looking at wheels and tires, but i see so many different variations that it is hard to decide which is the best set up. I also wonder if people are taking in the fact that when you mess around with the factory offset you also add stress to the wheel bearings on the car. Is this being accounted for when people go with wider wheels and less offset?

Thanks. To me it looks like a 35 series tire with 19 rims is the way to go. I wonder what the reasoning is behind the people who put different series tires on their Z's. I have seen like 3 people do that on this site.

Think it has to be based on availabilty of tires size on the brand the owner wants, limits them, and they go for the next closest size

jmr0311, they are "silver"
trp2nd Nice Choice on wheels! Looks tight!

Width X profile = Height from bead of tire to tread
Example for 17" OEM tires:
front 225 X .50 = 112.5mm tall sidewall (225/50/17)
rear 235 X .50 = 117.5mm tall sidewall (235/50/17)

difference front to rear:
117.5 /112.5 = 1.0444 OR 104.4% taller sidewall on rear

A good tire seller will be able to do the math for you.
Here is my cars numbers:
front 245 X.45 = 110.25 (245/45/17)
rear 285X .40 = 114 (285/40/17)

114 /110.25 = 1.034 OR 103.4% taller rear tire sidewall

The problem he is having is his rears are 96.2% as tall as the fronts this is a change of 8.2% and the computer don't like it.

NissanUSA told us when the car came out to keep bewteen 1/2" and 3/4" diamter difference front to rear not to upset the abs/trac control system.

Your combo is is not only .26" different...your rears are shorter!

Definitly want to get yourself some 275-35s

did you buy the wheels and tires from the same place? If you did the salesman should of warned you about changing the tire diameter.
