Default Suspension help!!

Ok ive looked and looked for the answers Im looking for. I got a lil help but need a lil more. So im looking into lowering my z but Im comparing coilovers and springs. Im not going to be racing the z on tracks much so dont need crazy suspension. I know coilovers have the adjustability over springs but cost so much lol. Im looking for a clean looking drop but still increases handleing. If im just going to mostly be daily driving with occasional track days would springs be the way to go? Can someone with springs tell me how they like them and how the perform please, Also id like to know what brands are recomended. If I can get some help Id greatly appreeciate it!

thanks

I would recommend going with a good set of springs first. You can always upgrade your shocks later. Why compromise on a marginal set of coilovers when, based on your requirements, you really only need springs (at the moment anyway).

As far as spring recommendations go, you need to decide on whether you want progressive or linear springs, what kind of drop you want, what springs rates meet your requirements, etc. If you do a search you should be able to find a good amount of info on this debate.

tein springs. Got them on my ride. Any form of un-even patch in the road i feel. But it still offers too much body roll for my taste in a hard corner. Thinking of getting the shocks upgraded.

Hmmm, do you buy a cheap coilover setup and maybe suffer because it lacks a certain ride and drive quality that you might be lucky enough to not even realize. Or do you roll the dice and get a inexpensive spring setup and hope it can deliver on the things that are important to you. Sound's like getting springs would be the best idea, though if you can expand your budget and get a "quality" coilover setup, it would be night and day better vs just springs. In any event here's a list to help you that I keep on hand.

Oem spring rates

350Z 2003/2004
Front:314 Rear:342

350Z 2004.5 to 2008
Front:314 Rear:427

Eibach 350Z progressive springs 1”/1”
Spring rates in LBS initial/final front 296/384 initial/final rear 316/421

Eibach 350Z sportline progressive springs 1.2"/1.2"
F: 239/400 R: 257/435
Very wide spreads between the softer initial rates and firmer peak rates.

RSR 350Z linear springs .6”/.6”
Spring rates in LBS 345/417

Hotchkis 350Z Linear springs .6”/.8”
Spring rates in lbs 340/330

Tein S-tech 350Z springs .7“.6“ (fronts are slightly progressive, rears are linear)
Spring rates in LBS 386/402 (estimated front intial rate is 327lbs)

Tein H-tech 350z linear springs .3”/.2”
Spring rates in LBS 358/375

Progress Technology progressive springs 1.0”/1.0”
Spring rates in LBS 425/385 (final rates only, softer intial front progressive rate unknown)

Tokico D-spec shock & spring package
350Z - DSK512 - 375f/375r - Linear Springs 1"/1.5"

Tanabe GF210 Series 350Z progressive springs 1”/1.2”
Spring rates in LBS 336/375 (only peak rates are published, softer initial progressive rates unknown) Not much stiffer vs oem, IMO Eibach prokit is a better choice because of that springs higher spring rates which should help keep you off the bumpstops more often.

Tanabe NF210 Series 350Z progressive springs 1.2”/1.2” higher
Spring rates in LBS 314/353
Little to no increase in spring rate over oem, little to nothing added to keep you off the bumpstops
