Default Check it out - Yellow Calipers on Redline Z!!!

I have a few friends who have painted their calipers and i thought it looked pretty sweet. I painted mine yellow; i figured it would give good contrast with the redline red. I have some JDM clear sidemarkers on the way which will get rid of the slight clash with the stock orange sidemarkers. Anyway, hope you like the pics!

Yeah, and Ill take a Big Mac and Fries with that...

Just kidding. I like it a lot, I like the yellow, looks pretty sweet. What kinda paint did you use? I also heard that calipers are not supposed to be painted due to heating issues. Dont know if it really matters.

Anyway, Looks good.. Nice Work!

Thanks. I used a spray on paint that is made for brake calipers. It withstands high temps and is supposed to dissipate heat really well. I sprayed the paint into a cup and used a brush to apply it. It took about 3-4 coats to get it looking right. If you just spray it on you have to use a lot of masking tape and it gives a dull finish. Brushing it on makes it SHINE . I used a brake/caliper/rotor cleaner beforehand to clean them off.

I had originally planned to use a cut out NISMO pattern and spray red through it to give that effect but i was afraid it would run. Those stickers would be great...where do i get them?

hey xZlr8,
what brand was the paint that you used?? i see caliper paint kits that cost around $40 (folia-tec, G2) and the can that they sell at the local auto parts store for $5. wondered what paint you used? also, did you primer it first??
looks nice... like the color contrast!

I used the cheap 7.99 stuff at autozone that has a caliper on the front of the can. It's like a spray paint can. But i sprayed it in a cup and brushed it on to get the glossy look. It's holding up well. My buddy has had it on his car for months now and is holding up. So, IMO, i wouldn't waste the money on the "kit". I didn't primer it, just cleaned it with this spray on brake cleaner that's about 1.60. Good luck.

I am not really digging that color combo, IMO redline would look better with red , black or silver calipers with nissan sticker on it. Just my opinion but it is borderline ricey.
