New D2 brakes on the Z
For the street your not going to notice a difference. You will notice the difference on a track with an experienced driver pushing the car to the limits. That's when you're going to notice these inconsistencies in a set of dampers/springs/alignment etc.
For dropping your car for the street and occasional track fun days I say buy whatever is cheapest under $2500. They will all be of the same quality with very few exceptions like Billstein, Koni, and one or two others. The lower end dampers by TEIN, KSport, D2, JIC etc. are all inadequate for the track for competition or or even HPDE if your goal is low lap times and consistency.
As far as the D2 brakes are concerned it seems they are another manufacture to target the trend of more pistons are better. Well that simply isn't true. The more pistons a caliper has the weaker it becomes and the more flexible it becomes. To compensate for the increase in caliper flex the caliper is built larger and heavier which goes against the goal to reduce unsprung weight.
Stoptech builds 2 different setups for the Z. A 4 piston front and a 2 piston rear, and a 6 piston front and a 4 piston rear. Stoptech will be the first to tell you that the difference between the 2 setups is that the 6/4 combo has biggger pads. Bigger pads won't make you stop any better but they will last longer which is good for endurance racing.
Sooo generally anything more than 6 pistons is a waste. 12 is extreme overkill and is geared towards the bigger is better show crowd.

I'm in full agreement w/ you anything more than 6...the pistons become smaller but greater in number, offering no real advantage. These particular brakes as far as I know have been a unknown in the Z community and any additional info is always helpful. As far as height adjustment I believe one is out of luck if they have a dedicated track car. I've heard good things about the Top Secret roberuta cup but the people that I know that have this only street their car and unfortunately it doesn't fit all coilovers. It would be great if there was a track solution for dampening and height adjustment on the fly that was a little less damaging to your wallet like the above mentioned, but who knows...
- and trust me OLDdirty...whether one likes to believe it or not, the majority of Z owners never sees the track but still wants a product that's track ready and is bling at the same time. If there were more people in the Z community that were like this, I wouldn't be receiving PM's every week wanting the track headlight covers I fabricate to be wrapped in CF....So if at every thread you comment on pertaining to the track benefits of a product from seibon and other aero to bbk's I guess we won't know for certain until you try it out and get back to us...

BTW I cant get the links to work?
Have you been wanting to say this to me?? I understand what you are saying and it is 100% true but I'm kinda don't get why You said that now?? What did I just say to make you think I don't like things that are not functional or track approved?

99% of the modifications done to cars is for looks and nothing to do with performance. BBK's that will never see a track. CF body parts with no weight savings over OEM. Big wings with downforce on cars that don't see track speeds to even become effective. Aero kits that have no aero advantages.
Sometimes I wonder if the lightbulb will switch on in some of these peoples brains who mod cars that I added alot of performance to my car and I'd like to see what it will do around a track instead of sitting at a HIN show. Even if it only once. Just use the parts you paid for. Ooooops but then again they may get scratched.
Bottom line .... get out on a track and use these parts for what they were intended for.

Crom didn't you just state the opposite? Or did I just not get what you said?
This is basically my point to you. I like parts that are functional and yes some style. What where you trying to prove to me?

I'm in full agreement w/ JET...that you feel better about the money spent when you're using it what its intended for...as long as if you have fun w/ it. - What I don't jive w/ is the overwhelming negativity.
I dont know how to do my own quote but this is good enough.
I think we agree with the same things but got misinformed.

I got 2 parachutes.....one in the back and one in the front ( incase the 1st one is a misfire)...then when I crash from not being able to see at least I can get towed.....But then I can buy a t-shirt at the track that day in the gift shop that says "Represent".... At least I had fun w/ my 20k in accessories.

I don't get why you had to bring me in this like I was a bad guy and talk nothing but ****?? You got me so confused
you should step outside and take a breath of fresh air...it's the internet, don't take everything you read so literally or personally

But thanks for reminding me how ghay DD tow hooks are and most wings.
