You can go way lower, Im dropped about 3" and could still go lower but feel that it is a good comprimise (as long as you dont have a body kit). Right now it is perfectly drivable as long as you stay away from potholes, huge dips, speedbumps, etc.

I suggest at least another inch to get you started and you shouldnt have to roll your fenders at all with that wheel/tire size combo

I think you got a great ride height. I agree with the people that say the car looks bad when you go to low. I think i am going to shoot for the same ride height once i get my wheels, probably with a set of Eibach pro kit (1").

I just installed my BC racing coilovers last night and what my friends and I did when we spun the coilover was count the thread from the bottom ring to the top. Started on the lowest setting and went up from there. To be honest, your car doesn't look dropped that much. You should at least be able to go another inch. Here are my results vs yours.

255/35/19x9.5 +18
285/35/19x10.5 +23

PS. Roll your fenders!

To each his own, but I think that low a ride just looks silly. If you like it though, that is what counts.

Has anyone with real track/auto-x experience experimented with ride height to find out the optimal ride height? I know on the 3rd Gen RX-7, an optimal ride height was pretty well established. But then, that car had the benefit of a lot of serious drivers who spent a lot of time tweaking it for performance, not looks.

So anyone have the story on the Z as to best performing ride height?

I like the ride height of the pro kits. no rolled fender and aligned within stock specs and it's fine. probably about 1 in wheel gap but I'm on 18x9 & 18x10 all +17 with 40 series tires. No issues with most speed bumps or diveways. the friggin parking stops kill me though. hahaha.

Oh yeah, op... any lower you probably would want to roll the fender to play it safe.

Simply put, lowering you car on coil's with a good, clean look will require fender rolling, no way around it.
