Default Stance Gr+ vs. Gr+ pro

I know that the Gr+ pro is basically the same as the Gr+ except for the helper spring. Do I really need this? Is it going to help in anyway. What are th advantages or disadvantages. Its just for a street driven z not really any racing just some spirited drives. Thanks

If you only use the car for spirited drives you'll probably never notice the difference. Save your money and get whatever is cheaper. If you aren't racing for money then who cares, right? Most parts are better than stock.

Without knowing anything about Stance coilovers, I'd say the version with the helper spring is probably a linear rate and the version w/o the helper spring is a progressive rate. Generally a helper spring is only added to take up space or give the effect of a progressive rate spring.

Either way, you'll probably never notice the difference.

Alright well soon after I posted this thread I got the gr+ pro. Almost three years later I still have the same set of coils. The only difference was the addition of a helper spring for the front coilover being that I have oem rears.

The helper spring is really only necessary when the preload on the spring is set so low that when the dampner is fully extended i.e. when the car is lifted off the ground, that the spring will actually be loose between the adjustment ring and the top hat. The helper spring is then there to keep tension on the spring and push it up against the top hat when the car is lifted. When the car is dropped back down, the helper spring is fully compressed and serves no purpose.

Hope this clears things up for some of you.
