I just finished the bed-in process. I really like the feel of these brakes compared to the stock junk.

Another upgrade complete.. next..

no shims used for the pads?

Nice upgrade. I am due for some new rotors/pads after this past track event. I think I'm going to do the stainless lines this time too.

Yes, a bit more bite than stock, and no shims used.

I'd follow our standard break in procedure to obtain optimal performance. See this link.
http://www.stoptech.com/tech_info/wp...contents.shtml

Why is the pad and rotor break-in procedure so important?

PROPER BREAK-IN OF ROTORS AND PADS IS CRITICAL. Not properly doing so can cause permanent damage to rotors and adversely effect overall brake performance. Pads and rotors interact with each other to provide efficient brake performance. The break-in or bed-in procedure is done to condition the pad/rotor interface. Depending on the pad used, more or less pad material is uniformly transferred onto the disc as a thin film. The resins and bonding agents in some pads need to be heat cycled to work properly as well. By not properly bedding in pads, uneven pad material deposits can occur that may cause a vibration. Improper wear characteristics may also show up on either the pads, or rotors, or both. Always follow the recommended break-in procedure for any pads, rotors or brake systems. This link is to the Technical page of our website. The article titled The "Warped" Brake Disc and other Myths of the Braking System has more details about the effect of the pad and rotor together
The bleeding is best done with two people. You can also use a vaccum type system, but good ones are hard to fine. Pressure systems aren't good since pumping air into the brake fluid isn't what you want.

For instructions, see any of our big brake kit manuals.
http://www.stoptech.com/tech_info/bbk_manuals.shtml

As for the pricing you asked in pm, I wouldn't purchase based on price. Buy the product from a distributor that can help you with any technical issues that you may incur, such as when you're flushing out the brakes. I have found the vendors selling products for cheap are practically useless when it comes to support or knowledge of the product.

i have these same rotors, and just wanted to give you a word of caution...the brake pad doesn't cover the entire surface of the rotor so when the rotors get wet and you get that rust, there will be about a half an inch of rust near the hub that won't get rubbed off by the brake pad. And that rust will just always be there...it's kind of an eye sore, but i guess you'll get used to it. It pissed me off when i first found out, but i guess i got over it...

a half inch seems like a lot but you don't want the rotor hitting the caliper either...i would like to hear from the experts.

stoptech can you chime in on this ?

I have this same kit, but purchased it from MyNismo.com with Nismo pads, those Axis one's the kit normally comes with are junk. Spend the extra money, do it right!! You won't look back.

I don't see the braided lines in your photos, they made the biggest difference I think. Pedal feels great, 100x better than stock.

I've been thinking about getting these myself. Can you elaborate on that?

Do a search on here and read some reviews. I think there's yet to be a person happy with them.

i did a search on "axxis ultimate" and the pads seem to put out more brake dust than other brands....no big deal to me as long as they stop and grip which from what i have read these pads do pretty well.

one review even said they liked the pads because they covered the whole rotor.

confused even more now with conflicting information....but i suggest potential buyers read for themselves

my personal opinion would be that a reputable company would not put crap pads with top quality components...just my .02

i am taking the plunge to see for myself.
