Default questions: neg camber/upper pillow ball mounts

i already posted on driver but got no help
hopefully u guys here can help me out

i am currently running hks rs coilovers which has upper pillow ball mounts

i also recently bought a pair of cusco a arms

i dont really know what upper pillow ball mounts do. ive heard it relates to camber.

my 1st question is, can i adjust front camber to -3 with upper pillow ball mounts alone or would i need to install the a arms?

my 2nd question is, can rear camber be set to -3 with everything stock or would i also need a camber kit for the rear as well?

any help would be great
thanks

camber is only adjustable with the upper mounts on cars with macpherson strut suspension, z's ang g's don't have that.

to adjust camber on the front, you need to put on the arms, but i don't know if you'll be able to get -3* or not...

+1

also, it depends on how low the car is. the lower it is, the more neg camber you will be able to get in the rear with stock arms....i was at -3.5 rear lowered 1.2 inches in the rear before I got a camber kit and alignment...but every car is slightly diff

The upper pillow ball mounts on the RS coilovers have nothing to do with camber on our cars. They eliminate the flex in the OEM rubber mounts which improves responsiveness. They also benefit by allowing the suspension to move more freely throughout it's range: the upper pillow ball mount allows the shock piston to rotate ever so slightly about the axis of the upper mounting point (with the stock rubber mount, the rubber just flexes to allow for this movement).

1. You adjust front camber using your Cusco A-arms. Look up the specs on the Cusco arms and you will find out how far nerative they can go. Of course, the max range of negative adjustabililty will depend on how lowered your car is.

2. Same goes for the rear. Depending on how low you are, you might already be at -3. A camber kit might help ensure you have the range of adjustability you desire.

just to add...if your car is lowered and the camber reaches -3 i suggest you check your toe angle. because once you lower it your toe will most likely be way off and you will wear your tires real fast.
