Default Zinc plating = squeeking true or false

Hi guys - replaced my stock rotors with Centric cross drilled/slotted rotors and for the most part happy with purchase with the exception of the rust that appears on the hat and the minimal rotor surface that doesn't get touched by the pad. I was told that Zinc plated rotors will eliminate the rust but will also cause squeeking. For those of you that have zinc plated rotors, are you having squeeking from your rotors? I can remove the rust between washings but what a PITA. I'm also considering masking off the rotors and painting the hat and surface so that I don't have to look at rusty rotors. Would like to hear any feedback on the Zinc coating question. Thanks

I have been running zinc-plated rotors from R1 concepts for over 2 years with no squeeking. Over time some of the zinc has started to chip, but it's not too bad.

I painted the hat. See https://my350z.com/forum/brakes-and-suspension/239311-brakes-r1concepts.html for photos.

Zinc coating wont make your rotors squeek. On the friction surface it actually wears of withing the first few hard braking occurances. Try doing a proper bed in for the rotors.

I have powerslot slotted rotors that have the zinc coating and stuff. Have had them on longer than 8000 miles. No rust, and no squealing.

Been running R1 Concepts slotted/zinc plated rotors for about a year and no squeaking of any kind.
