Default Broken Ball Joint?

Do I have to buy this whole thing or is there anyway I can replace the little rubber thing? I don't really know what it is, but mine is totally ripped and grease are everywhere.

Any help is appreciated.

My car btw is making loud knocking vibration towards the front driver's side. Everything else looked fine when I was looking at it except the ripped rubber part.

HELP!

....

It all depends, you need to see if the joint is bad or just the cover is ripped.

We are still talking about your ? in the other thread, you know.

If joint is bad, replacing cover and regreasing is just a bandaid that will peel off very soon.

Like stated by Z1 in other thread, i dont know where to get a ball joint for the compression arm (thats the joint your talking about, correct?) by itself.

That loud noise makes me think the joint is shot, esp if some grease is still inside the cover, assuming the sound is coming from the compression arm's joint, and not from the upper control arm's ball joint or somewhere else.
