What is the downside of having the GTSPEC 4pt mid brace?
I'm really wanting to get the GTSPEC mid chassis brace for my g35c but I'm afraid the ride with be worst.
Will this make ride comfort worst as a DD? I know for turns this is well worth it but I wont be doing autocross everyday and Im just afraid ill regret it for daily driving.
let me know folks before I make a big mistake.

ride wont be any worse, if anything a little better. OEM cars tend to approach this magic area of ride improvement when adding stiffness, get beyond it and then it goes to race car harshness.
Just like GeauxLadyZ said, just expect some decreased ground clearance.

I'd save your money to be honest. Spend it on something else.
man, if you guys are just gonna use this as a disposable skid plate, then Megan Racing has these for a cheap price.
For those who don't know what this thing is for, it is supposed to stiffen up the chassis on hard cornering. Less chassis flex = better handling.
If you don't track your car, then you don't need it.

Chassis bracing is a big seller in the 240sx community. They need it. Think of all of the bracing that comes stock on our car; we don't. I doubt it does anything, other than add weight and give you one more thing to put in the list of mods in your signature.
^ Wrong answer young Padawan! It adds weight so it actually makes your car slower :-) But if you flip it the tow truck driver at least has something to hook a strap to and drag your car off the road. And the bottom of the car looks cool.

Since I have some experience in design, welding, and fabrication, I see no way this could add significant stiffness. Even if it were made of solid steel, I'm pretty sure I could flex one corner by hand.
BUT the ad says it's made of "6061 air craft grade aluminum with triple internal HALLOW wall", so maybe it gets its strength from a higher power.

On a newer car you are not going to get much (or any) benefit out of these types of things. However, as a car ages, especially if its seen a lot of track time, I could see how these could help with removing a slight amount of flex that has developed.
That said, for the money, they are better/cheaper ways to go faster.
THAT said, these usually fall under 'free' mods in race/time trial classes, and if gaining every advantage is worth the cost, than I could see a use there too.
For a street car that sees the odd pylon crushing sunday, I wouldn't bother.
