Well apparently they are avaliable for the z now and soon for the g35. The ones he showed me had a very overall quality look to them. He showed me the back ones and they had an extra little shock fluid compartment. I think thats what it was, he said it was for more aggresive tuning and dampening. I was also told the camber and toe are no problem to get to factory spec. Something about upper pillowball mounts.

Had them on my MK IV Jetta. Very good ride quality. Struts are made by Koni I think.

Much better ride than the Bilstein's.

We are trying to get a set of these coilovers but have yet to be able to obtain a set for the Z. As far as I know, they are not in the states yet (well, other than the set at the sema show). Last time I spoke to my contact at KW, he told me they should be available for distribution very soon.

Since we are an authorized dealer, let me give you a few quick highlights of the kw system:
- constructed completely of INOX Stainless steel. I have seen salt testing between the KW's and other coilovers and have tried to turn the mounts by hand. The other brands were frozen solid. The KW's I could easily turn. Great for harsh winters..

- The high-speed dampening abilities of the kw are similar to stock providing a supple ride over bumps and ripples in the pavement. The low-speed dampening is much firmer providing much improved roll control when performance driving.

- Variant 3 types are completely adjustable for rebound and compression

These are just some basic highlights of the system. I haven't obtained a set yet to give you a hands on feel for the 350Z system (or provide pics). If they are similar to the other systems, I can assure you they are of top quality.

If you guys are interested, let me know and I can try and firm up a price and a timeline..

I just talked to my contact. Here is the info..

all 4 corners use a progressive rate spring. He mentioned that when they design a progressive rate spring, it is usually 20-25% stiffer than the factory setup, but he could not give me a difinitive answer on how much stiffer it is over factory.

As for the timeline... I can have the variant 3 stuff in a week (they have one set they can send me now). After it is sold, it takes ~3weeks as they are all hand built by the competition shop.

I will try and get you guys pricing as soon as possible..

there are 3 variantes, V1, V2, V3, where v3 is most expensive. all KW components are made out of stainless, and have "buttress" cross-section threads for better load-transfer and height adjustment. the V1 is the base model, without rebound and compression adjustability, but is still adjustable in means of height. the Variante 2 (V2) has all the features of V1 but adds Reboun d adjustability... and V3 goes all out with rebound and compression adjustability as MSM said. Rebound control primarily controls pitch and roll, where as compression deals with cornering. the v3's are an amazing setup, but are quite pricy, i read somewhere that $1,700 per corner will buy you a full V3 package.. .. correct me if i'm wrong....and im pretty sure HPA Motorsports in Vanouver, Canada were the first to bring KW into North America... so they could be the distributor for the U.S. too? KW also does a lot of custom work too in terms of suspension setup...

not quite that much

Retail pricing is $1975 for the full V3 setup. I will have an introductory price as soon as my setup gets here, along with pics and a hands on review...

They were by far one of the best Coilover systems for the BMW e46 platform (also FK)

Man, that ain't much of a price difference between the lower models and the upper models. Almost pointless to buy the lower models. Be nice if the bottom model competed with the Tein Basics, but that is not the case. Really, the basics don't have any real competition at that price range.

Reply from KW Suspension

************************************************

Although we do have a large dealer network, our dealers are setup for mostly our European applications. For our Japanese coilovers, you would be best served by ordering directly from us here at KW North America.

For the 350Z we offer our variant 1 2 and 3 coilovers, with the variant 1 being released in the near future. The variant 1 coilover is a pre set damping coilover, the variant 2 is rebound adjustable, while the variant 3 is rebound and compression adjustable. All three variants are of course height adjustable.

Each coilover is custom valved for the 350Z and is made in INOX stainless steel. With our patented valving, we are able to give you both amazing ride comfort, while giving you dramatic increases in handling.
