Default New Coilovers! Bilstein PSS10

I recently purchased some Bilstein PSS10's and had them installed on Saturday by PX(Thanks Eli, Larry and Jeff). Install went decently smooth... Had some problems with the instructions(Bad Translation of Instructions). PX had it fixed in no time.
These coilovers offer a drop of 1.75" in the front and rear. Right now I have them set at full low in the rear and I am not to sure about the front. The coilovers are 10 way adjustable.
These coilovers are AMAZING. The ride stiffness is absolutely perfect and I couldn't be happier. I have them set to 3 in the front and 4 in the rear. They are not as harsh as the Tein Flex which is exactly what I was looking for. I drive my car everyday(rain/shine/snow) and I didn't want something that would be very stiff.
I am very happy with these coilovers and would recommend them to anyone(as of right now).

On to Pics!

These coilovers are perfect for DD in my opinion because they are not to stiff and they offer the perfect ride height.

Z1 is local to me too. I'm torn between these and BC/Stance. Bilsteins are much more than those.

Quality is well worth the price when it comes to suspension. It is a difference you will feel every time you drive your car, unlike the Volk vs Varstron debate.

PSS is near their range. Just have to ask yourself if you really need adjustments, (that may or may not work at all)

I was also looking at stance because they are local to me. I think their spring rates are way to high and they don't reuse OEM mounts(like the bilsteins) so they can rattle with the pillowball mounts.

So are these comparable to KW V2 coilovers in regard to quality, ride comfort and stiffness?

Looking good, Carl.

From the Coilover Thread
BRAND: KW Variant 2's
2. TYPE: OEM style
3. PRICE: approx. $1600
4. Progressive spring rates, adjustable rebound, reuse stock upper mounts and therefore require a spring compressor to install properly.

From Z1's Sale Thread
Price $1795
The new PSS10 is a step up from where the PSS9 left off. Adding an extra level of dampening adjustment (now 10 total clicks of adjustment front and rear), these units have monotube dampers, fully galvanized housings, and feature spring rates of 370 lbs front, and a progressive rear rate of 240-420 lbs rear.

The biggest change to the PSS10 vs the 9 is the adjustment **** - the new **** is much easier to use, with larger numbers. Since the size increased, it's now easier to feel the adjustment clicks as well. They also added an additional level of adjustment. Total span of adjustment between full stiff and full soft is approximately 30%. These are the ideal coilover for someone who wants the ability to adjust height and dampening, but who also demands a quiet, solid, european inspired ride (firm, but well controlled, without being rigid and unforgiving).

I completely agree with the ride quality described in bold.

PSS isnt in the same range as the BC/Stance coils at all. Those can be had for around 1k where as the Bilsteins are nearly 2k. I understand that the quality is much better but would the difference in comfort justify the price difference for me is the question. Although if money werent the issue, I'd get the Bilsteins no question.

I've been looking around at other Z's who are lowered >~1.5". These coilover says in the instruction manual that they have an adjustment range of 45mm(45 millimeters = 1.77165354 inches). The fronts can go much lower, but the rears..... My rear looks no where near 1.5" let alone 1.75" anyone know whats up?

Did you do the springmount mod? Does that even have an effect on these coils?

There are 1 (or 2..I forget) rings in the rear you can remove to get to the max rear drop. Minimum drop in the back is 1 inch

Don't even use the springmounts. The coilovers come with a different mount

So in order to get the 1.75" drop the collars have to be removed? Sounds good

Thanks for the help

Did you need a spring compressor for the front? I thought this was a full coilover setup but I saw a pic which may have said otherwise.
