Replacing sway bar parts for after market sways?
What's up guys?
I just got paid yesterday so naturally I'm doing the fiscally sagacious thing and I'm seriously considering putting in some after market sway bars in my '03 350z
Before I pull zee trigger though I was wondering if anyone could weigh-in regarding which sway-bar parts I should replace beforehand? I've heard of some people replacing the sway bar bracket (part code #56271 in this diagram:http://www.nissanpartszone.com/Page_...ponentsIndex=3)
I've had the sway bar mounting brackets brake off in my old '91 MR2 and I didn't even install a more aggressive after market sway bar in it so I want to ensure that I have a properly fortified foundation for heavy duty sways in my 350z. Thanks in advance!

I've never heard of anyone replacing a swaybar bracket unless it was somehow damaged in an accident, etc - there would be no point, it doesn't wear out
Hotchkis sways have had integrated collars since ~2005

I've had that exact bracket shear in half, right through the mounting hole (rear passenger side), so it can happen. This happened with aftermarket swaybars and endlinks. Prior to that, my OEM endlinks cracked in half at the same location.
Sounds like something's not right with your sway bar setup.
Dunno. When the OEM end link cracked in half, I had the 350EVO sway bars (set to medium). When the bracket cracked, I had the 350EVO sway bars (medium setting) with SPL endlinks. For the past year or so, I've had Hotchkis sway bars (medium setting) with Powergrid end links. Otherwise, stock suspension.
