Default who makes the best sways?

yeah probably a subjective comment; but any ideas? I know very very little about suspension mods; and dont read nearly enough.

did the search found the general bits about a few brands, leaning towards nismo for the simple idea of it being nismo(must be good right?) plus warrenty(not that it matters, how the hell can swaybars cause a problem?)

so whats best?

For now probably the Evo sways. They are front & rear adjustable. Both are the stiffest on the market. Both the Performance and Schuitemaker Grand Am cars race with them and have had no problems. The rear is a solid U unlike the rear Cusco design that is kinked around the exhaust. I have a Borla, so it fits great. I am really impressed with the results. I wish it was the first mod I purchased. It cost $100 more than others, but it goes to a pioneering company that is improving things for all so it is worth it to me.

Cusco or Evo are both the only solid sways there are AFAIK, the rest are hollow.
EVO's are front & rear adjustable like Mcclaskz stated, the Cusco's are only front adjustable with the rear being 173% over stock IIRC.
Either way I don't think you can really go wrong.
I just installed the Cusco's but have yet to have dry roads to test them on.

What about Hotchkis sway bars? They seem to have a good reputation with other performance cars, and for only $300 USD it's a great value.

Stats:

Front 1 3/8" (35MM) Hollow (Bar Weight 13.5lbs)
3 Position Adjustable
Rate Increase over stock
+9%,+32%,+63%

Rear 15/16"(24mm) Hollow (bar weight 5.5lbs)
3 Position Adjustable
Rate Increase over stock
+54%,+92%,+146%

I'll get EVOs close to spring.

I mean I've seen BJ racing with it in Grand Am series. And they take 3rd place in class if I got it right. For me it's the only proof the stuff is real. I don't want to spend money for label, I have tight budget and if I do something I want to be sure it makes my car go faster and handle better.

EVO is sooooo much better than that superoverpriced rebranded stuff Nismo selling to guys who cares about Nismo sticker more than about performance.

Really, what about street driving with EVO sway bars?
How difficult it is to install?

if you are not plannig to do track events, then there's really no need to upgrade sway bars....

the install is easy, be sure to lube the bushings....

350EVO are proven technology, solid (not hollow), F&R adjustable.... I adjust them to full soft for the street and full stiff for the track...

We have taken a differnt approach than other companies on our design. This adds to the bars effectiveness by removing the OEM bends and twists. We are working to provide the complete suspesion package on all levels.....from spirited street driving.....to pure race/ track. We will be releasing a lot of products over the next couple months and our web site is growing everyday with more and more to offer. We have some new products coming out for those who are all ready enjoying our sway bars to make the package even better.

350EVO sways

Cheers

ares--I've had my EVO sways on for a while now and they REALLY did an excellent job with them. The design is great, both front and rear are adjustable, and when I took my car to the track the car was unreal--I practically need R compound tires to be able to use the full potential of the car now.

Hey, BJ--with all this praise I have for your stuff, hows about a discount on my next purchase?

I do autocross since summer. No track events. Autocross means short twisted circuit with lap times around 45-60 seconds. Will it help in autocross? Car is behaving so bad in some sharp turns right now...

Can you adjust sway bars without a ramp?

I gotcha girl !!!! keep tearing em up!

If you have a jack and two stands the setting can easily be changed. Its alot easier if the end of the car you are working on doesnt have any load on it. Yes for auto X they will make you event a lot more enjoyable....I cnat stand push!

Go with 350EVO. I have them and I love them...except the rattles from Urethane Bushings! When I visited Wright Tuning at Cinncinati, OH (Where 350EVO is at), BJ tried really hard to eliminate the rattles and squeaks caused by the Urethane Bushings and it went away eventually, but it came back over time about a week after even though it wasn't as bad. I just gave up and put the stock rubber bushings back for the winter, but it still works great! It gives you a lot tighter feel around the corner. I really liked the urethane bushing for the performance but I just couldn't stand rattlings. I'll swap them back in spring after little more fabricating.
I'll see you on spring, BJ!

haha are u kidding? But seriously, what will aftermarket sways give me that my stockies arent (assuming I dont track my car on a regular basis)?

On a side note...I cant wait to see some performance results from your final drive ratio kit. I wouldnt be surprised if that turned out to be the best bang for your buck mod available for the Z.

The car will have a better balance and a lot less body roll. Ride over bumps will be a little more harsh. What part of the country are you in?
