Default In the market for Coilovers, any suggestions?

Sorry if I post this in the wrong section. I'm in the market for coilovers but for the mean time I just want something decent. Trying to not go over 1k. Are C8 coilovers any good? This vendor said he can ship them out to me for $680. I looked at the reviews and some ppl said there good and others not. Anyone actually have a set of these. Other then that do you guys recommend anything thats not over 1k...

bc coils , stance and fortune auto coils are ones i've held, installed and ridden in. they should be right at your limit. they are solid products if you want a good street feel, ride quality and material quality.

Depends on what you want. Looks, racing, drifting, autocross. For looks, try F&F, bc, stance, pmb, d2, godspeed, fortune auto, meagan, k sport, because even though some handle better than others, these all offer versions that are at the "entry" cost . For drifting and racing, it varies, but that would def be out of your budget, at least for a good set. I lucked out, I got JIC's for 1200 used on the forum with 5k miles on them(or so I was told) but I bought them because they were the best handing coilover for my budget at the time. Look at the classifieds constantly.

I've been thoroughly unimpressed by how Stance behave after they get hot. BCs are alright. Better than Megans.

what are you looking for in a coilover? Just ride height? go with tanabe S-OC or Tein Basic (under 1K), if you're looking for dampening adjustments, like the others said, there's BC, stance, Fortune Auto and but there is still tanabe pro5 or various teins. Or you might want to look in the private classifieds for something used but still decent.

+10000

Just save some more and do it right the first time. I'm sure you get some KWs for under $2K.

Coilovers are one of the few things that I recommend people never buy used. They're hard to inspect, and often times they're older models that are hard to find parts for OR the collars/mounts are seized. Unless you REALLY trust the seller and know EXACTLY what you're buying, I'd stay away from used coilovers. Also, no matter what you buy make sure you know the procedure and availability of rebuild/revalve parts. Once you've got a couple coilovers to decide from, call up the manufacturers and see which ones have rebuild parts in stock at that moment. There's only a few coilover companies that will have rebuild parts in stock at all times.

if you are looking for just lower vehicle height with a comfortable ride...go with K-sport...honestly unless you track your car regularly (which i'm assuming you don't otherwise you wouldn't be asking this question) no need to spend gobs of $$ on coilovers....

You should also look into getting a camber kit. I made this mistake when I lowered my last car thinking I could just lower my car and everything be ok.. Then I got a blow out
