Reviving this old thread to ask a couple of questions. Im about to upgrade my comp rod and front lca bushings (inner and outer) to the whitelines. My install shop told me that they recently did a g35 and it raised the ride height after replacing the bushings, has anyone else experienced this?

if the bushings are complete worn, torn, sagged etc then yes, new bushings will slightly raise ride height. for instance i just changed the trans link (lower control arm) bushings on my car, but didnt really see much change in height. the shock mount bushings were sagged and cracking, but it was probably just a few mm's difference compared to the new bushings, nothing really noticeable. inner bushings were still whole, surprisingly, but even so the car feels a lot better already.

compression rod...mine are tearing. how much this will affect my ride height i dont know, but i doubt it will be much.

did the shop use whitelines, or OEM style bushings? if OEM, they may have torqued everything with the arms drooping, which is not correct and can cause ride height problems as well. final torque should be done with the suspension loaded. with poly it doesnt matter, as they dont work the same as stock rubber bushings do.

DesertSleeper:
If your car is lowered installing poly bushings here will cause the power steering rack to leak, as mentioned on post #15 in this thread.
Be warned, it's happened to me on SuperPro bushings and a mild drop with Tein S springs.

Thanks Rob, I did see that. But that is only the comp rod bushing correct? The LCA inner and outer whiteline bushings shouldnt cause any issues?

I think the inner one just can cause a bit of stiction but shouldn't affect the steering rack, and from what I remember the WL bushings are softer than other poly bushings (good quality).

LCA inner and outer have an insignificant amount of flex. The compression arm has a ton of flex , and it why it should be a mono all design from the factory.

Interesting note, FRS is solid bushing from the factory.

The bushings in my moms G are still doing well.

Thanks Terra. She's at stock height though correct? So if i understand correctly, the Whitelines lca and comp rod bushings should be ok as long as the vehicle is stock height? And if its lowered, stay away from poly bushings and go with either stock or spl for the comp rod?

Correct, it's at stock height. Looking at the way the bushing sits, I would not want it for lowered vehicles.

I did install a set if VegasErics lowered G a few months back. Since they were first made there has been a slight change to make them flex easier. Still not ideal, but they work.

Good to hear, I ordered the Whiteline LCA and comp rod bushings for my girl's g35 coupe and she's at stock height so that will work out, but now I gotta decide whether I wanna do another stock comp rod bushing or go with the SPL on my 07 HR since it's lowered an inch.....

So from what I hear the only con to the SPL is that it's noisy as shiat?
