Energy Suspension Bushings for Factory Sway Bars. Too small?!
Hey guys,
I just installed a set of Energy suspension sway bar bushings designed for the stock front sway bar. Energy suspension claims that the bushings would fit all years of 350Z and all V35 G35, at the size of 32mm diameter.
Upon installing it the busings on my car, I notice that our factory sway bars are actually ~33.4mm, NOT 32mm. As such, the energy suspension bushings do not wrap around my factory sway bar comnpletely, leaving a little gap. While there is no concern with performance and noise from the small gap, I am wondering if this would pose a problem. I understand that over time, this gap may slowly reduce as the bushing slowly conforms to the shape of the bar from pressure and movement. But the gap is still there.
Do you guys notice it?

Mine is the 2005 model, which has the same sway bar size as all the other 2002-2006 350Z and G35 sedan and coupes. Our factory front sway bar diameter is 33.4mm while the ES sway bar bushings specific to our cars are rated at 32mm...
I have noticed no adverse effect and the car rides fine and feels tighter after the install, but it the bushings just don't wrap completely around the bar.

Are they still holding up? I just ran into the same problem, and that gap has me worried. Haven't torqued it down yet but the bushing is obviously smaller. I just got off the phone with max from energy and he told me the oem sway bar is 32. Straight mind boggled right now and there's hardly any info I can find on it.
