Default Real quick opinions: BC-BR Coilovers or Tanabe GF210?

**This is not a "VS-which is better ride quality etc" thread.**

Ive been wanting to lower the Z and just ran into a set of bc-br coilovers. I know that they run about $990ish-shippped new.
I know the tanabe springs are about $190-shipped.

WWJD??
JK,
Im only wanting to go as low as the tanabe springs: 1" fronts and 1.2" rears due to the kit being pretty low at the moment as is. Of course the tanabe is the exact drop I want to go but should I spend the extra moula for the bc's? Be better for the long-haul due to the oe having about 72k miles on them? Dont track\drift or anything. Its really just a weekend toy.

Just do the bc's or should I just save the money and go with the tanabe?
Thx

would be 500 actually and not "exact exact", just good enough for me as far as stance and clearance around here

and OK

as an owner of BC BR, if I wanted to go somewhere around the drop of GF210, I would not even consider the BR's and just get new struts and be ~$500-600. You most likely would never make adjustments to the coilovers once they are already installed

its really up to you man. You already know what you need to buy to satisfy your needs, who knows what you will end up doing or needing in the future, so I don't think asking us will help. What if eveyone told you to just settle for springs but you end up selling the kit and wanting to slam the car? Then what?

if the coils are in the budget, get them. You can set your car up exactly like you want them.

Lowering your old shocks is only going to kill them faster.

True. One day i want to sell the car, other i love it. Just part of it. Figured maybe jump on them while the deal is out there(BC) but its not the only one. Its not a huge drop I'm looking for so why spend the extra? But if i do springs and wear **** out, ill spend just as much as I would in the BC setup in first place.

Well 72k on stock shocks, they are worn out. Get the Tanabe springs and a nice set of D-Spec shocks. YOu will have a better setup than the BC coilovers.

coilovers without a doubt. what if u wanna go lower?? just adjust height and get an alignment.

i guess i like the option of adjusting if i get some new wheels in different specs

If getting the coils are even an option I'd go with those over the springs any day. Yeah, they're more, but you're getting them at a great price and I think the benefits outweigh the extra money you'll be putting into them.
So as long as you have the money to spend on them, I'd go for them.

What benefit are you talking about? There are 2 main parts, spring and damper. The damper (shock) is sub par on a crappy coilover setup compaired to a working stock shock, Koni or D-Spec.

I had BC coilovers, i voted for Tanabe.

I guess what it boils down to is what exactly he's looking to get out of replacing his stock parts, whether it's simply for looks, performance, etc.

Went w/ the bc's. Am happy so far as I want it a little lower already-lol. Spring set-up wouldve been a disapointment as far as height goes. I "thought" that was where I wanted to be but dont think they wouldve done the job.
Thanks a lot from all.
