It totally depends on how much you're willing to spend and what you're expecting from your suspension. You could find coilovers for pretty cheap but they might not last as long, ride as well, or perform as well as higher end systems.

I bought the fortune auto 500 series, they seem to be good quality for the $. For 1,000$ they sure beat the hell outta Megan's and all the others for like 900$. Plus they're rebuildable in the USA.

Unless you have $1600+ to spend on coilovers, just get drop springs.

You don't necessarily have to pay top dollar - I was fortunate enough to find a set of brand new A'Pexi coilovers that suited my needs just fine, and they were on sale for under a grand. Lowered to the height I wanted which was lower than what the Hotchkis springs provided me before I found the A'Pexi's. It took me a while to dial them in, they were 32 way adjustable for damping, so I took a few adjustments and time to dial in the ride I was satisfied with. Just keep looking around, you can find some quality coilovers for a decent price, under a grand. I found mine at a car meet w/vendors at Irwindale Speedway.

Fortune Autos seem like a pretty good choice for the money for most people.

They're definitely worth the money. 5 year warranty. Custom spring rates. Awesome customer service. I'll stand behind them and promote their quality any day.

Between those two choices I probably would go with Teins, myself.

Teins are basic. Megan's blow out easy. D2 don't last. Ksport are decent. My vote is for the fortune autos, call up billy at import image and he'll hook you up for around 1000

Since you're probably not tracking your car and you either A. want to feel like you driving with a "better" handling suspension. Or B. you want to lower the car. Hell even both. You might want to look at some springs which will give you the drop with no ability to adjust anything other than height. If you car has high mileage don't go with springs. If you want coilovers, you don't have much options for quality and low prices. The new Tein Basis, BC, FA, Stance, Tanabe, or you could go with a strut/spring combo. ( Koni Yellows or Tokico ). Your not going to find the answer your looking for in the forums, but you will find ALOT of information to help you decide on what you want to do with the budget you have. Good luck.

Budget coilovers? Get MDUs on ebay, lots of good reviews about 500 shipped.

I had MDU's before I got my current Megan tracks. Only reason I got different coilovers is because I needed a true type setup and the MDU's were an OEM setup. For daily driving I would say that they were pretty good. Allowed me to adjust the height to whatever I wanted (literally) and kept a relatively good ride. Not harsh at all.

I picked up my Megan's brand new from a friend for very cheap and they've held up excellently since I've had them. I think I've put ~5,000 miles on my car give or take with my new setup and I like em.

I'll be second to motion the Fortune Autos if you can scrounge together enough money.

I have a quick question on the topic of suspension for anyone reading this,

How low can a person go before they have to start worrying about camber and toe issues?
If all a person wanted to do was drop it a slight amount for appearance and not slam the crap out of it and wasn't planning on tracking it at all.

Only reason i ask is because Canadian roads in Saskatchewan are sooo horrible that if you get to low you wont be able to drive without loosing the bottom end of your whole car and i would only be dropping a bit for appearance.
