Default Solid Diff Bushing Longevity

My OEM bushing went bye bye and I'm looking to swap it with a solid bushing but my friend/mechanic told me not to because it will wear the rest of the subframe bushing out. Not to mention the solid bushing doesn't flex so it stresses the diff.

I want to know those of you who had the solid bushing for a couple thousand miles, how does it hold up? Any play resulting in the subframe bushing because of it.

My second choice would be going with a Whiteline Poly bushing if the solid bushings are as bad as they say.

I went with SPL solid diff bushings and whiteline subframe bushings. But i cant say how it is going to do yet as i havent driven it yet. I can tell you that i certainly am not going to worry about it.

If you are real worried, just go with whiteline anyways. They are a hell of an upgrade and almost just as great and long lasting as the solid, and will be less harsh. Why you are down there, id do the subframe bushing anyways. Everyone who installs them, loves them.

Solid diff bushings cause I had too, felt no difference , Whiteline subframe bushings were done because I could. They had a huge difference in feel.

Now have Sikky subframe bushing , no difference in feel, just a lot more noise.

I went with spl solid diff bushings and sikky raised subframe bushings. I have about 500-600 miles on the z. It's definely louder inside the cabin. When I get into the higher rpms the diff whines. However with this setup, I have zero wheel hop issues

Solid diff bushings will have minimal impact on the longevity of subframe bushings. If I were in your shoes, I'd do the subframe at the same time. It's not that difficult. If you need help sourcing parts, PM me

The subframe bushings are highly overlooked and make a huge difference in feel. A huge +1 from me about doing them when you do your diff bushings.

I did mine in a 1.5 car garage. The rear subframe subframe bushing is more of a pain in the *** then the 4 subframe bushings combined. You can do it.

I've done 2 sets of subframe bushings now , and about 10 diff bushings. Subframe is a huge PITA

Agreed. Those 4 subframe bushings were way worse than the 3 diff bushings

I third that!

Getting the oem subframe bushings out were a major pain. I was replacing my damaged subframe so I had the luxury of time and I got one bushing out then procrastinated the other 3 over the span of a month. Was worth it when all was said and done but defi not gonna help anyone do theirs without some financial motivation.

I think this answers my question..."How much louder are the Sikky bushing than the Whiteline bushings [for the subframe]?"

Care to give a number from 1-10 for the added noise of each? :-)

SPL bushings +3 on noise
Whiteline subframe +1 on noise
Sikky subframe bushing replacing my Whiteline bushings with the SPL bushings already installed +8 is about right.

Doesn't bother me, Because Race Car
