Bent coilover bracket

i'll probably order a new pair of the lower bracket from Stance. They said the lower bracket for z33 is made of metal. Must be cheap metal or something..
If the new lower brackets' width is still smaller than the width of the shock bushings causing them to bend, then would it be fine to have a piece of metal welded inside the bracket to work as a spacer?
