never said it was a bump stop. but, there is not much holding the spring in place if the cone shape is not there.

either way, keep us updated so we know the results.

 

No not saying you did in particular. The weight of the car is basically what holds the spring in place. There is a lip on the outside of where the spring sits to keep it in place so really there is no negative effects of using this isolater over the oem one.

I used these on my g with the cone isolater to fix the saggy rear. It raised my rear 5/8 to even out my gaps. My z is lower in the back and I was thinking about doing the same mod as I did on my g

 

so has anybody purchased the rear spring isolators, and can confirm they do their job?

So this can be used to lower the car without losing much suspension travel at the rear.

 

I've ordered them off frsport.com and I'm going to update this thread with pictures on my car as soon as I get them. Hopefully if everything works out, it will help alleviate a little bit of the doubt that everyone has about this mod. I've got the eibach sportlines on stock wheels with spacers, and it definitely sits higher than the fronts do. Hopefully this will even out the drop.

 

So, did anyone try this out? Thinking of spending the $27 to order these up instead of hacking up oem parts...

 

i am interested in this..... but leery at the same time

 

ive done it, installed just the other day. they work fine. even out the Tein S-Tech drop nicely. they dont move at all, no weird noises or anything. it was worth the 25 bucks, and i can swap back to my old mounts if i ever need to.

did you just pop them in with the little extended part going into the spring?

 

You'll know when you see them. They're a little finicky, the lip that goes into the spring is stiff. You kind of have to hold it while you position the spring, but once you have it up into the mount and the spring is in position it's gravy. With the arm bolted back up and the spring compressed it's not going anywhere.

One word on my alignment, my front camber is at -1.4, rear is at - 2.2 and - 2.4, left and right. Toe is in spec, and camber isn't that far out so I'm rolling without a camber kit for the time being. But my camber is adjustments as far as the bolts will allow so if I ever decide to go lower I'll need a kit. 0.6 + 0.5 comes to about 1.1 inches of drop in the rear. I could have gotten away with a 1 inch or so drop but I like the Teins a lot. One day I will get some arms and get the camber in spec, or maybe get front arms and add a little more. I like it how it is though, just need to get my fenders rolled!

You mean the little tabs that secure the stock mounts? The id of the new mounts is too big, but it fits perfectly inside the outer diameter of the upper mount and that is what will secure it along with the pressure from the spring. 6 days of being on them and no problems at all. Maybe I should have taken pictures of the install... Hindsight right?
