AST True Coilovers
Yes I'll be trying this just as soon as I have free time to get under my car lol
Weird thing is, even with the good reviews of the re11 tire, it doesn't hook up all that well from a stop or slight roll. My rear will wiggle back and forth some. and I'm not even dumping the clutch.

Put the jack under the tire, you want to check the function suspension travel. My car is to for max travel without the tires rubbing the top of the wheel well. I have covered this many times in this section.
I am in process of reducing my front travel slightly, using a progressive bump stop , I want to keep the splitter off the ground. http://www.speedwaymotors.com/Speedt...FUThQgodxicAcQ
Hankook RS3 , 285/35-18 front and rear. LOL i didn't even know Cooper made a tire called RS3.

Yeah man lol supposedly they are pretty good too, I am stuck on my hankooks though, greatest tires ever lol (subjective comment)
Well that's good to know. I'm overly cautious so I don't want to cause any issues if I can avoid them. talking with ast however I learned that the we have shocks, not struts. The difference being shocks are not a structural member that bares 3 axis of load, while a strut does. Shocks only take the load linearly through the centerline axis.
yep you are absolutely correct, thats why we need a good shock damper, or our cars wont function like they were supposed to.

That's good to know about the tires I figured after a couple hours of highway driving and they would be up to temp but even then they would slip.
That's someone why I'm bitter. I'm sure my Z handled much better before the previous owner slammed it to the ground on Stance Coilovers. I'm a fan of the true coilover design mod, just not the coilovers themselves.
Ha ha ha "trackpedia". I like it. Thanks! I'll start my reading!

yeah bro Stance is trash, i didnt believe everyone at first, than i saw some shock dynos and rode in a car with some and they are crap, my stock spring/koni yellow setup handled wayyyy better
amd trackpedia is one of the best sources for explaining track setups

Yea just my 2 month experience with stance had been ****. Wish I'd known this before buying the car, but at least I saved #277 from more abuse.

Anyone have any advice for alignment specs? I have an appointment monday to get my alignment done at a performance shop. Here's what I'm thinking
Toe: 0* all around
Front Camber: 1.8*
Rear Camber: 2.0*
Front caster: +1* from stock (what is stock value?)
Rear Caster: Dunno

What is the OEM rear toe? Actually I should probably google that stuff lol
Yea that's what I was leaning towards but I didn't know if it was too drastic. I'd heard the oem caster in the front was -8 but wasn't sure but was wanting to go -9 if it was. Thanks for the input!

Nothing drastic about this setup. If you run canyons , autocross and track, the tires will last longer. If you have nothing but straight roads like Vegas, you will lose 2k to 4k of tire life.

Lol thats funny my lilttle sister lives in Dayton but well if thats your area than what i would do is exactly what Terra said, and just keep the OEM specs for the street, your tires will wear out really fast with an agressive alignment.
Lotta good info in here. The only person I know that runs AST is Miltdoggie. aka Milt aka the white 350z with the "OFFCRPLZ" plate. He's been running AST for quite some time now. While he is very knowledgeable of his suspension setup and that in general, his purpose couldn't be further from yours.
