I didnt mean to make it sound like a cant afford the maintenance. Im just saying I dont feel a need to spend an excessive amount on parts that i wont use their full potential (i.e. brake pads for track use). Im not on a crazy tight budget but if I save some money on parts here and there, that is a little more money I can spend on it elsewhere
shoulda bought non brembo 350z then. brembo pads are gonna be more expensive than non brembo pads. no way around it.. no one saying u gotta get high performance pads. but thats wat ur gonna have to get. i dont think they make avg joe pads for brembos like how they do for non brembo brakes

Thats understandable, a Z that has High performance brakes should have high performance pads. If that is the case then I wont have any problem buying whatever belongs on my car
id go oem but they can be pricey. ive read that hawks were the next best option thats pretty close to oem but cheaper. u can get hawk pads on ebay for about $115 which is quite reasonable imo

I am running the StopTechs streets which have great bite and pedal feel but are on the dusty side
I will be switching over to Hawks next and since you're on a budget just browse our used marketplace for a set of pads rather than going new

oh yea stoptechs are good too. jus ebc some folks have had issues with it from wat ive read in the past. idk bout buying used brake pads tho. id stay away from that unless its got very little usage becus u never know when buying used.
Jeez, give the guy a break. He recently got the car, is looking to save a few $, and came here asking for advice. For a DD, it's really not critical to get high-end, track-ready pads, and everyone has a budget, whether or not they're willing to admit it.
Maybe. I don't know. My wife's Acura TL-S has Brembo's, and when we were looking for pads locally, places like NAPA and Autozone had the same sort of selection they had for any other car. From ~$35 and up per axle. Since I've been using the EBC red's for so long on my cars, I ended up just getting some for her Acura, too. Paid about $175 for both axles, from Amazon, so the price was about the same as on the Z. There's a lot of margin on brake pads for vendors, so I don't think wholesale cost on the high-end pads is actually all that much more than on the average pads.
wow theres a dude on ebay selling genuine brembo pads for only $124. thats a pretty good deal

Like someone else suggested, some autozone pads would probably be fine. I have seen some people complain about Hawk's producing a lot of dust - I am used to a lot of dust so I can't really be a good judge of that.
If I were buying pads for my DD, I'd probably price them at a local parts store first and go from there.. no sense blowing 2x-3x the money just so you can say you have StopTechs when you are just using them for normal street driving.

very low dust and quiet, i have never heard them squeak.
i was not confident for first 100 miles after that, they turned out great.
they are not for track use, so i swap out pads when I go to a track
Check rockauto, you may get them for $80
I will not buy brembo pads again, they are very dusty, noisy, seems like the price is proportional to the dust produced and part of the price is brembo brand name
The whole thing about pads shouldn't be a matter of price at all.
It's about performance..dusting and noise levels. I have Stop tech street performance pads and they will outperform most pads (not full blown track pads) as far as heat fade and are very quiet. They do dust moderately. If you hate dusting and want quiet with moderate performance, get the Posi Quiets. BTW.. Both are reasonably priced.

Well thanks for all the help guys. And to me it sounds like i should get the Posi Quiets because im only doing street driving and my personal opinion is that any pad for a brembo will have plenty of bite for street driving. So thanks again everybody
