Since the drop is only .7 and .6 you should be fine. The alignment guy got it close to specs.

For those with Eibachs that disagree with me, I am only stating my opinion based on my driving experience with my car and those with other type of suspension.

Eibachs are crap because they are too soft. For ppl that want a confortable ride thats the spring for you. But I myself love digging into cornings hard and dont mind the harsh ride. My old car was a Type R with Teins and a full bushing kit so I know what harsh is and loved it. Its a trade off but I prefer performance over other things and the Eibachs did not give me this. I have driven a Z with KG/MM (JDM import at the time) and that kicked Eibach. I have also been in a G with the Z Tanabes again the owner bought it from Asia so not sure the specs, and it gave a very tight ride. Now I am no expert nor a race car driver, but I have found similarities in stiffer suspension in that I get faster lap times. I guess better suspension does help make it seem like I am a better driver

With all this being said I am considering getting coilovers for the track, but I have heard good things about the Nismo for regular track lapping (non competition) and that they are more than adequate without being fully adjustable.

Thanks to everyone for the info on the Tein S-tech. Got them installed yesterday and am loving them. The improved handling and the drop are exactly what I was looking for.

Looks great! Just wondering what size wheels those were? I'm assuming 19's, but just wanted to be sure.

I'm about 90% sure I'm getting the S-Tech's as well, just doing some final research and info gathering.

Thanks Drew703, I appreciate the compliment. The wheels are 19's, and are actually the same size / offset / tire size you are running with the LE's. Should look nearly identical in terms of the gap.

Did you have to roll your fenders with the drop?

I did have the fenders rolled, but did so before getting the wheels and springs so I don't really know if it's necessary. But looking at it now I'd say rolling is a necessity with this setup.

I have set of Tein S-tech springs on my G35C... and... well, at least it's comfortable on the freeway! However, the drawbacks are greater than the benefits and I will be removing them soon.

The S-tech pushes significantly on canyon runs. Running at 8/10ths enabled me to understeer so heavily, at one point, I thought I was going to ditch the car! I'm also convinced that the rear suspension has too much negative camber--trying to power out of turns only lead to wheelspin. Taking left turns at intersections in front of traffic--also wheelspin. If you ONLY commute, maybe this will be ok, but ANY sort of spirited driving, and it's rather anti-climatic.

I'm looking at the Tein FLEX, JIC FLT-A2, and the Tanabe Sustec S-S when it comes out.

How about letting off the right pedal a little when turning, maybe you will cut down on wheelspin.

I wondered how long it would take someone to that has G35 lowering spirngs to come out and mention this. Fact is, their's a darn good reason for your reality, it's the reason I do not recommend G35 Tein spirngs for the G35 for those that might push the car very hard handling wise. SPRING RATES.
Oem 314/340 S-tech 358/274 +14%front -19% rear
transfer's +19% roll stiffness to the front, go stiffer in the front and you increase understeer.

Instead of running out and getting coilovers, try a set of S-tech's ment for the 350Z or RSR down spirngs also ment for the Z. However, you may have reason's that go beyond lowering springs, I don't know, but I do know why your car behaves like it does. Coilovers don't have to be the expensive solution to fix that behavior.

Tein 350Z S-tech 386/402 +23%front +18%rear transfers +5% roll stiffness to front.

RSR springs ment for the 350Z 345/417
+10%front +23%rear transfers +13% roll stiffness to front.

Worst case has you not liking those springs either, if that happens, just pull them and resell them at a price that's lower than the cheapest place on the net.

GSedan35,

I just purchased the Tein STechs for the 350Z for my G35 per your recommendations. Is the drop going to be 0.7" front and 0.6" rear still? Or would it be more since these are made for the 350Z? I couldn't decide between these or the RSR but ended up going with the Teins because it's front rate is stiffer. I'll have picture taken too once I get them so you can see how the front coils are compared to the RSRs. If I kept stock wheels and tires, would I have more understeer with the upgrade of these springs? I have a set of Milanos coming in a couple of weeks but I ordered tire sizes of 255/35 up front and 275/35 in the rear, hoping to decrease understeer as well.

i believe u actually want to stiffen up the rear more than the front
GoSooners so the RS-Rs would of been a better choice. Could be wrong. But i have the RS-Rs on my 350Z and love them

In that case, GSedan35 mentioned that if I get coilovers, that I could spend an extra $165 for 448 lb/in springs. Would it be possible just to buy these springs alone and not get coilovers? Or is it part of the coilover package? Would going from 402 to 448 make that much of a difference? I don't need to adjust height, otherwise, I'd invest in Tein BAsics. If I did go with coilovers, I'd go with the Tein CS with stiffer 448 lb springs in the back. However, I just don't have the money. I figured if I spent $150 on springs and another $165 on the 448 lb springs, I'd achieve a mild track setup that is better than stock, yet will work for the street. And later on when my struts go bad, I could spend another $600 on Konis, which would leave me at a total of ~$900 spent, still $500 less than the Tein CS. GSedan35, where are you?
