Default Lowering the Rear Nismo.

Any clue how much I need to cut off the stock coil springs on my 2008 Nismo to lower the rear about 1"?? I just can't stand the stock stance anymore. Looks like a down hill racer.

honestly just invest in a set of lowering springs rather than cutting your springs, cutting springs makes your car more bouncy which you don't want.

Lowering spring isn't that expensive anyway.

Cut your rear springmount...gives you about 0.5" and you don't have to tell people you cut your spring.

A search will reveal all!

What happened to the stock rays? If you had the original wheels your stance wouldn't look like a downhill racecar... the stock size is 18X9 F and 19X10.5 R so the wheels are an inch larger in diameter in the rear stock.

I have 285/40/18's on the rear. Pretty much the same overall size. And a Nizmo rides rough as heck anyways.

I have NO CLUE what happened to the original rims. Not the original owner.

I think it looks just fine. You should just cut the rear springmount, which is free and has no significant adverse effects, other than what evening out your rake would do otherwise.

275/40 is closer to stock and as mentioned the spring mount mod is the way to go. You can cut 1/2 inch off it and it will give you almost an inch of drop.
