Default Alternate rear shock

Currently I have TEIN Flex coilovers on the car. The rear uses a shock from TEIN part number #D6P27-U1931
I have been told that this is a discontinued part and would be rather difficult to get a replacement. And seeing as I daily drive my car, sending these in for a rebuild isn't a do-able option.
I was wondering if I would be able to run an alternate rear shock, KYB, etc with the TEIN spring.

Are there any issues, or concerns that come to mind?

Since it's a divorced setup, install a set of stock shocks and send your Tiens out for a rebuild

Heck, one can even buy a pair of brand new KYB GR2 rear shocks for $70 or so.

I don't like KYBs but for temp use.....

Depending on how low you are you may want to go with a stiffer shock. Tokico HP blues. Good cheap shock and stiffer than the others mentioned. Love mine.

Thank you guys for the input, I've been distracted with work, and being on the fence about selling the car.
