Default Oem Springs life expectancy

Hi all

My shocks are due to be replaced and im wondering whether its worth replacing springs as well?

Id rather not spend money if not needed but if required would just go coilovers if springs are something worth changing.

My understanding is that springs under normal use last the life of a car and only struts and shocks need replacing.. is this correct?

Thanks in advance

^^^ Agree for the most part but for environmental and or abuse imparted on them; that is, snow/salt/ice leading to rust and/or bad shocks for a long time and/or running them in punishing track or other conditions which could cause fatigue. But I've not ever seen a spring break from fatigue.

Mileage might be a consideration as well but it all depends on how the car was driven. Lots freeway, I wouldn't even give them a second thought.

Springs will usually last forever on a vehicle.
