Default NEW TEIN Street Basis Z reviews?

Was looking around for reviews on the new made in china TEIN Basis Z coilover. Found one thread over on the G35 forum which was positive. Apparently the spring rate has been increased and the shock is now non-serviceable. Couldn't find anything here. Forgive me if I overlooked it. Thanks.

Part # GSP26-8UAS2

Heres a link to the part in question.

I bought these when they first changed the name from Basics to Basis. For the price and what they are they are okay. You are better off with something like Koni's B12 kit or something of the sort. Cant adjust the height, but you get a slight drop with a hell of a lot better struts. These seem to be the go to setup if you don't want the pick your color 1k coilovers.

yea, im not looking to track or anything, i only drive the car in the summer. I bought it in 2009 with 39k and it has alittle over 60k today. How was the ride quality compared to stock? I live in NYC so really dont want to deal with a super stiff set up.

We've been having good luck with the TEIN Basis Z coilovers. They're the same thing as the standard Basis coilovers (which are now discontinued), but they have a sealed shock body which is non rebuildable. Due to this, TEIN was able to lower the price significantly.

The reason they did this is because people weren't rebuilding the original Basis coilovers any way. They lasted a long time, and if they ended up needing to be rebuilt, customers ended up just getting a new set. At this price point, it would make more sense to buy new than to rebuild.

For someone who wants to lower their car and get a good shock/spring combo that's adjustable height, can't go wrong with this.
