I voted in poll. To elaborate: Stock ride height and better control over rough road surfaces. If I can get the Z's suspension to have the same magical feel as my old E36 M3 I'll be satisified. It's not quite there yet. A good set of shocks and a better set of tires should get it closer to the mark. If it's still not there, I will consider a sway bar change.

Stock ride height with proper shock rebound control to eliminate the "bounce". Firm ride isn't a problem. I like the fact the stock springs are linear for performance. I have seen how effective a basically stock 350Z Track can be (with DA Konis & stock springs) watching TC Kline finish third at the Runoffs. Car needs less understeer or push and better turn in. Probably means 350Evo sways with the Konis. I too had an E36 M3 and I agree it handled well and rode alot better than the Z. It understeered too and had alot more body lean then the Z IMO.

BJ,

Based on posts and comments by Mark @ ZChickz got in on your "Pre-order Special" back when. Before looking at springs other than OEM, will go with 350EVO Sways and Koni's when available.

I want lower and faster turn in. The understeer has GOT to go!

BJ, I want to use my stock springs for no change in ride height. I expect to lose the bounce w/o degrading the ride. I also may want sways as well, but will not be interested in much increased stiffness in the ride. No poly bushings, no big increase in diameter, just lose the understeer. My car is a street ride only and I want the best ride I can get with as much understeer eliminated as is feasible. No miracles, not expensive and durable as can be made within reason. Your adjustable bars are more than I want to pay, unless you can give me a compelling reason they will be the best choice to meet my needs.

Our sway bar kit should be having a big price break. We are looking at switching bushing suppliers which would save money. That savings would then be reflected in our price.
The springs would still be linear...just a different rate front and rear.

BJ,

Good news. Every little bit helps. Konis + 350Evo Sways + Rogue Shifter. Do you know how soon the sways/supplier issue will take place and the price change? I still would like to have all this done in one trip.

Thanks

BJ, will your sway bar bushings be poly only or will you offer heavier rubber ones as well?

The bushings will be poly.
I will know more next week on the bushings. I still dont even have my 350Z back so I havent driven it in a long time. Michiel has been borrowing it and the S4 is better in the white stuff.

ideally you should also have the setup with lowering springs alot of people have bought aftermarket wheels and some of them obvoiusly need help to fill the wheel gap. that would be a big plus

Just like Boomer said, I want to keep the ride height stock AND keep the ride as soft as possible, go with stiffer sway bars, and the shocks. I want the bounce eliminated first and foremost.

Keeping stock springs for AutoX. Will be able to use Koni's plus a front sway bar from someone, not sure who's yet. I'm pretty sure the stock bushing need to stay.

Dwnshift, does the Evo front sway work with the stock bushings?

Thanks,
D'oh!

I'd love to see a set of linear springs that are around 20% stiffer than oem. Stock ride height or a lil lower 10mm or so.

Check his website, it says you can use your own, poly is extra. But, his new bushings will be poly. All I want is to reduce the understeer for street, not track driving. I want to stick with rubber bushings.

I'm another vote for Konis with OEM springs. The car is low enough for me as it is.

I suppose I'd consider springs if the spring rates of a new OEM-height spring don't detract too much from daily-driving ride. But, the Konis are expensive to start with... add another $300 or so for springs and that's starting to get expensive.

Cheers,

PeteH

Another vote for Koni's with OEM springs.

It sounds like the Koni's alone will help greatly with the ride quality. Plus I'm planning to stay with the stock springs for autoX.
