What are the best brake pads to get for the non-brembo brakes?

I use the Hawk HPS for mainly street use and the occasional track days. They seem to have performed well on my last track session. I am sure there are many other alternatives and don't want to say that the Hawks are the best since I have not tried all other pads out there.

For street, most would probably say Hawk HPS. Try www.raceshopper.com for a GREAT price.

when u go onto the site, click on "track order" first, then click on whatever u wanna checkout. otherwise you will just get an error page or something.
btw, u can never go wrong with endless' products.

How much are the CC-X pads for the brembos? How hard are they on the rotors when they are cold?

I've got HP+ up front and HPS rear. Shocking how much braking the car now has. The front ABS is activating much earlier and at higher speeds. It makes hell-toe affair a little more difficult b/c it takes so little time to brake. I've only got time for 1 gear shift and it better be quick! HP+ are much quieter than I expected which is an extra bonus. So far dusting is no worse than stock.

Hawk doesn't make HP+ rear for the Z, so I went with HPS instead. Perhaps the slightly more agressive front pad will further balance out the rear-bias on our cars.

Ideally, I'm hoping this setup will be suitable for light track days. Maybe some ducting when it really hot though.

Awesome prices at RaceShopper. Makes the thought of roasting the non-Brembo pads on lapping days not so concerning.

ok, the cc-x pads they have a heat range of 100-700 celcius. They are not as bad as most of the other semi-metallic pads. It is decent for stop and go as it does have a good initial response at cold temperatures compared to others.

THis is a very track oriented pad. Please do not try and drive this on the street much.. just to and from events if anything.
and they retail for 250 for the fronts and 240 for the rear. A f/r set costs 435 retail.

Here are some very good street and race pads from Porterfield.

Race Pads:

Fronts AP 815 R4-E $159.00
Rears AP 905 R4-E $119.00

Street Pads:

Fronts AP 815 R4-S $89.00
Rears AP 905 R4-S $79.00

http://www.porterfield-brakes.com/

Pricey but worth it. Otherwise the Hawks are good too.

The endless usa website is in the process of being updates.. but they do make every brake pad on that site for the 350z minus the na-d. And on that site has rotor temp, average coefficient of friction.. pad type is the name of the pad.

Quick question: Do the Hawk HPS pads eat up the rotor more than the stock brembo pads?

I'm running Carbotech Bobcats for my street driving. Very little dust, no noise, much greater grip (ABS at 100+ MPH) and they're great for autocrossing. I'm very happy with them for street use. I have no idea how hard they are on rotors (only 1k miles on them).
